Monday's Shave Merkur 15C Voskhod (2) Wild West Brushworks 'Terra Aqua' LEA Mentholated Shaving Cream Osage Rub Nautica Voyage EdT Menthol Monday was a welcomed shave today. I know I said I probably wouldn't do the XTG/ATG pass on my lower neck two days in a row, but... The Merkur 15C has an almost negative blade exposure, so it is a mild shaver. I've mentioned before that a true N-S pass on my lower neck is the XTG/ATG pass for me. To experiment today, since I had zero irritation or razor bumps from yesterday's shave, I decided I would perform the N-S pass again, but on my second lather, instead of just continuing through the length of the neck on the first WTG pass from the upper neck. It seemed to have worked well today, as the trouble zone feels fine. 3 passes for a DFS++/BBS- result today. With such a mild razor, I would have to use more buffing than I would like to get a full BBS and that may invite some unwanted irritation.
Thanks, Clint! Hope you're feeling better! Trust me aches and pains don't diminish with age. My Fine Accoutrements SS New LC Gillette homage razor arrives today. I always feel like it's Christmas Eve. I knew it was arriving today over the weekend, so the anticipation builds. Let's hope it's as good as the Fine Marvel razor. I don't own their slant because it's aluminum and too light, but that razor has also received excellent reviews. Hope the rest of your day goes well, my friend.
Great shave, Andrew! Clearly your technique is improving. I predict that before too long you'll be knocking out routine BBS shaves. I've been at that stage for quite a while with my preferred safety razors. Definitely not there with the Open Edge stuff, but we always improve and move forward. Hope your day goes well!
Excellent photo, Bruce. Sounds like the shave went well. I'll be featuring my new Fine Accoutrements SS New LC homage razor tomorrow. I'll probably to a full mug and noggin shave to compare the shave to my New Standard, Deluxe and LC. Hope your day goes well.
Thanks, Jeff! I have traveled from (1) getting consistent BBS with bad irritation, to (2) accepting DFS results to avoid irritation, to now (3) seeking the BBS results without the irritation. Making progress...
Love your photo, Jason! Polsilvers are great blades, soon to become unobtainium or so the word goes. If that's the case, I'll just never get the way the Russians market?
I wear glasses, too...my grocery store at least has strong AC-it's much better than that in the gym. Actually, I should rephrase the gym statement...it's BETTER in the supermarket than in the gym.
Yes indeed, Joe. My next gym trip is Wednesday...supposed to a be a bit cooler. But even so, I'm just sticking to lower body(bike/treadmill).
Well written progress report David. Good luck on the next setting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
