Thanks, Joe. There are "those" who consider the scent of Tabac reminiscent of an older demoiselle's handbag.

Excellent Joe. Nothing wrong with a repeat performance given the current state of the weather.

Unfortunately you are correct Clint. I love the Oud scent so I will need to pick up a soap, perhaps WK KoO or some other.

Thank you Joe! The weather will be in the 90's through the week and will continue to use Cryogen. I haven't used this much Cryogen in such a short period of time. Lol! I might throw in a Proraso shave to break it up.

First, I do not like shaving with asymmetrical grind razors, I think they were designed for use by barbers as one side should always be facing out.

My experience with Japanese razors has been the steel is of very high quality and the grinds always perfect. There also seem to be plenty of NOS ones available at reasonable prices. It is sacrilege but I prefer them to Sheffield steel. I have always found the razors available at an acceptable price for big Sheffield names have lots of wear and usual some geometry issues that require you to be very good at honing. My experience is that the Japanese hold their edges longer but they are different steels, so I would not bet too much on my statement.

Japanese versus Soligen is a little closer but I give a slight edge to the Japanese razors.... but.... I have a 7/8 Dorko that is second to none, it performs along all the top razors I have.

Artisan razors have a huge variability in quality and workmanship. I have to give the nod to the top Artisan razors I own, my razor that holds the edge the longest of all my blades is a Mike Martinez.

As to shaving like butter, if you have excellent steel and put a great edge on the blade I describe the feeling as velvet.

Forgot to add vintage US razors. There is some extremely hard steel on this razors which make for great edges when honed properly. But these razors tend to be small at 5/8 and hollow ground, which makes them to small and lite for me.
