    July 22nd

Razorock SC - Santa Maria Del Fiore Firenze
    Semogue OC Cherry Boar
    Tanifuji Maxfli Gold
Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements ASB - Star Jelly
L'Occitane EdT - Eav Des Bavx

Awesome shave this morning using a new to me shaving cream from Razorock. Arrived yesterday in a lot BST purchase of various soaps and aftershaves I was interested in. Firenze is a light tobacco flowery aroma, and made an awesome bowl lather with the Semogue boar. 3 passes using the Japanese Tanifuji Maxfli Gold, super DFS+ results. Light application of some skin nourishment from PAA, followed with a very nice EdT, L'Occitane's Eav Des Bavx (some reviews call this a near match to Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille). Super wifey approved.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Hump Day!
  3. Thank you Jim.

  8. Super shave Jim! Did you put the boar knot in the handle yourself or is it one of Neal's knots?
  9. That is a cool shave Clint.
  10. Thank you, Joe!
It's one of Neal's gelled boar knots. I haven't had the issues with this knot like I've had with the TnS gelled boar.

  11. That's an awesome shave Blair! I hear that Japanese straights are really sharp.
  12. I am glad because he does make quality brushes. I can't understand why you and Clint are having problems with that TnS knot.
  13. awesome Pierpaolo..
  14. awesome Blair..
  15. I'm not sure why it happens but it's not that uncommon for new boar brushes to react like this until broken in. I would be surprised if my TnS knot doesn't come around after a few more uses.

  17. Thanks Clint! Fragrantica has reviews all over the board comparing it to, or saying it isn't close at all to Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille. I've never smelled the TF version, so hard to know. The Eav Des Bavx is very similar to all the usual Tobacco Vanillas seen here regularly, A&E's, Stirling's Haverford, Asylum Shave Works Old Virginia, etc. I would say that the L'Occitane has a little more spice to it though, from cypress or incense according to the main notes 'votes' on Fragrantica. Repurchase? Hard to know.....there's so many good ones in this scent combo.

    Thank you Jim!
