2020-07-25, Saturday
Despite the fact that I haven't worked for a long time and even more I don't study, Saturdays continue to exert a particular fascination on me: it was almost holiday, but there was 'real' life around.
I always hated Sundays, maybe because when I was a child all shops were closed, people would put on their Sunday clothes and go for a walk on the promenade.
I hated walking on the promenade: mother took me there almost every day: it seemed me like a job...
The most terrible thing in my child's eyes was to see double couples: two wives with children ahead, wearing Sunday dresses talking to each other trying to keep the children under control or pushing prams followed by the two husbands in three piece suits, clearly uncomfortable in such clothing, talking to each other, with transistor radios attached to their ears, listening to the ball game.
It gave me sort of anxiety I still experience today when I see similar things such as cars with the two men in front and the women in the rear.
I do not mean that seeing families dressed like refugees, with T-shirts with brand names in big letters is more comforting...
When LaCoste polo shirts arrived in Italy my mother bought me some of them because, in those days, they were really good stuff and mom minded durability.
I used to take the scissors and remove the crocodile: in those days I was slender and had a good posture and I saw no reason to advertise those t-shirts for free!
But maybe they're all sponsored now.
And, speaking sponsorship, below is a list of what I used today.
