July 27, 2020 Tatara Masamune Gillette 7 O’clock Black ŌKU Botiho Godrej Lime Shave Cream Fine Italian Citrus Aftershave Whew, it is Monday already. Everything played well together this morning. I went with a 3 pass shave and no touch ups which ended in a near BBS. I admit it felt really odd not to chase the baby. This might become a new norm. I will just have to wait and see. A splash of the Fine Italian Citrus and I am off to a client site for the day. I hope everyone has a great Monday.
Lovely B&W shot, Clint! I call my shaves after three passes knowing there will still be stubble in the hollows of my neck. The whiskers swirl and the skin is bumpy. Chasing will leave me with irritation and redness. I don't have your iron skin. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
That's because, and I am sure you are quite aware, it's the blade that shaves you, not the $10 dollar Weishi or the $500 Wolfman. I'll NEVER, but never understand the wild claims from ultra high-end razor owners, that they now get the BEST shaves in their lives from their____ (insert super-expensive razor brand here). Ridiculous. If someone wants a beautiful razor, well-manufactured to top-of-the-line specifications, polished to a high-gloss shine, so be it, it's their money, but let's at least be honest with the rest of the community...and more importantly...to themselves. BTW, this post could get me banned on certain fora.
Beautiful photo, James. Have you tried the Proraso cream? Same great scent, but IMO, makes a better lather than the tub and doesn't leave your razor with a white film afterwards.
Thank you Jim. I need to learn to accept the results after 3 passes and move on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well, an error turned out to be excuseable in the end. What do I mean. Well, I forgot to bloom the Razorock Lime Burst soap before taking my shower. I recovered by using Stoylin Frost Drops right before the shave. I knew that on a day scheduled to be super duper hot, I'd need all the chill I could muster. Nothing fancy about the shave itself....nice loading method onto the brush-0:30 to complete the action. A bit moist for the first pass, but that's been the way for me. No cuts nor weepers. I probably could have done better at Porcupine Alley, even after the second pass. But Cactus Nation looked and felt fine. Stoylin Glacial Lime again to finish/"cool" me off. Wow, Frost Drops AND Glacial A.S. But this day calls for a frozen double-whammy. I'm sure there will be more days this summer when both will be needed. Super Duper Excellent for today.
The shape is quit similar, but the OC is bowed. They are great shavers. Get anyone of them with the exception of the #61, still a good shaver, but a different design, more English than French.
Well said Joseph. I think we all have razors that click better with our natural way of shaving. I mean I tend to hold a razor at a certain angle from the start. Some razors work fantastic with my natural starting point where others require me to adapt in order to get the best shave I can with that razor. I can appreciate that all razors or blades shave and get the job done. Motorcycle helmets vary widely in price. Those with the same official protection rating all serve the purpose. However, assuming the same fit I do enjoy using certain helmets more. This same argument of costs vs benefits can be made for every item used on a regular basis. I use what I like and let others do the same. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
