  2. Wonderful shave Clint! When I started wetshaving, my goal was to have a BBS shave every time. Now, I am free of that burden because I find it unnecessary for me to do so. Knowing that I can get a BBS is enough for me. I have come to enjoy my shaves without worrying about it. Shaves can still be very good without them being BBS quality.

  3. Sounds like you're doing well with your experimentation, David.
I agree with what you're saying. Everyone's beard grows at different rates. Some folks will see (or feel) stubble late afternoon, for others it might be the next day. A close shave is a close shave, regardless of what was used to achieve it.

  7. I want to say that I never dreamed of getting a Max Sprecher straight razor. I don't have oodles of discretionary income, but by happenstance things changed a bit for me that I was able to buy one. I bought it for the beauty, the challenge of shaving with a very large blade and investment. Does it give me an over-the-top shave as compared to my other razors. No way, Jose! With all that said, I get a kick out of shaving with it. Would I buy another Max Sprecher? Yes, if everything was aligned right. Is having one a necessity for my den. No! If funds allow, my heart is for everyone to shave with their ideal gaga razor whether it is a straight, or safety.
  8. Very cool shave Paul! The Northeast has really been hit by this heat wave!

  9. Musky Monday shave
    Brush: Rich Man Shaving Tribute
    Razor: 1951 Gillette 4pc Tech
    Blade: Rapira Swedish Supersteel
Soap: vintage His Excellency Solidified Shave Cream (late 1940's to 50's)
Aftershave: Shulton Old Spice Musk For Men

Today was the first time I used the His Excellency shave soap. It has to be at least 60 years old but after letting it soak while I showered; it made a very decent lather. 537DE143-B1E1-48D0-A40F-80F42E3BF37F.jpeg

  12. Razor - Parker SRX
    Blade - Astra S/P
    Soap - MWF
Brush - Stirling Best badger fan
A/S - Wholly Kaw Chypre Rose Concerto toner

What a difference with today's shave, vs the last one with the SRX. Kept an eye on the angle, especially touching down under the jawline. The best part? No red on the white washcloth after wiping the lather. Win!
It wasn't the closest or best shave ever. Considering the Parker has seen little runtime since my 100-day stretch, there's no reason to complain with this shave. Still a HUGE improvement over the last shave with it. It'll only get better, if it gets to come out and play more often.
