Thanks, Keith! Part of my issue may also be my son’s honing skills. In any case I do find my shaves with the Feather SS to be closer. Hopefully, that will change with time.
Great shave, Keith! I’m glad your shave went well! Do you have a closeness criterion, or do you not bother. I’ve become so accustomed to VBBS shaves with my safety razors, I find myself frustrated with the results from my straight shaves which is why I’ll be doing a focus with the Feather and Monsieur Charles Barber’s razors next month. If that doesn’t close the gap, I’ll just remain at a loss! That gap I’m experiencing may be attributable to my neurology.
Thank you, Jeff! The razor weighs 62g according to the website. I have the same razor in 17-4 stainless that weighs 102g. Thanks, Pierpaulo! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
July 29th Razor: H&S Co PO76Ti Blade: Sharp Star (1) Brush: Grizzly Bay PureMagic Pre-shave: PAA Rabid Banana Cube Soap: B&M LGC PAA Galactic witch hazel PAA unscented Star Jelly AS: B&M LGC Good morning! First shave with the PO76Ti. Awesome! I have been using the PO76 17-4 the past few days in anticipation of the Ti's arrival. They're the same razor just in different materials. The Ti felt just a touch smoother. Both fantastic razors polished to an absolute mirror on every surface. Three passes for near BBS. Ever so close to silent alum. Have a great day! Thank you, Andrew! I'm not positive if these are what's considered the "Black Beauty". I just did a quick search, and it seems like folks do refer to the Treet Carbons as such....but I dunno for certain. I don't have a lot of experience with the Treet Platinums. From what I recall, they're decent, yet not long-lasting.
SOTD WEDNESDAY MORNING, JULY 29, 2020 I enjoyed the shave with the Monsieur Charles Barber’s razor. The Schick B-20 Proline took a bit of doing to load, but performed decently. DFS all around the mug which I cleaned up with the Rex Ambassador to my desired VBBS level. The Rex is an awesome head shaver and delivered the same quality shave to the dome. This little Kent Synthetic is a surprisingly good lather generator. Great shave! I feel cool, clean and velveteen! RAZOR: Monsieur Charles (Mug), Rex Ambassador (Dome) BLADE: Schick B-20 Proline (Mug), Suneko (6) (Dome) PREP: Cold water rinse followed by Rabid Banana Preshave Cube BRUSH: Kent Infinity Synthetic SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat w/ 6 drops of M-Bomb POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH and Osage Rub. Finished with Krampert’s Frostbite AS Splash.
Great news on Kathy's progress, Charlie. It's nice that you're getting some downtime, where you can relax together, as well. Best wishes for continued progress - and hopefully things can get back to normal soon. Great to see you 'round these parts again!
