July 28th ToBS SC & ASL - Sandalwood Simpson Chubby 2 - Royal Pearl J.A. Henkels Friodur PAA Star Jelly Super nice 3 pass shave today. Couple weepers on the jawline (a little aggressive on the pressure for the first pass). Awesome easy lather from the Chubby 2 and ToBS SC, fantastic face feel with plenty of residual slick for buffing, incredible fragrance. Quick alum bar swipes dispatched the weepers, followed with PAA's Star Jelly and finished with a smattering of ToBS' matching 'sweet barbershop' sandalwood. DFS + results....couldn't chase the baby on the right chin area jawline after the early mishap. Reading along....more news of progress for @wristwatchb's bride, lots of great images, shaves & reports, new Greyhound at the Clint residence, new images of Gromit, all sorts of shaving acquisitions...debates on BBS w/straights and plenty more 30DC fun. For me to rate a shave as epic my face needs to stay smooth past lunch and with zero irritation. Be patient it will come, it also took me a while before I could get the edges to the sharpness I like.
thank you Joe.most of the blades seem to work for me these days,well the russian gillettes for the most part,hence my reluctance to venture further,if it works..well don't..you know.but 7 bucks for 100 why not try them and have something to yak about..my friends will like them if i don't..

July 29 SOTD Good morning gents! Shavette Shave # 184 Dovo Shavette Personna Hairshaper Blade (5) Stirling Boar Brush Cryogen SS and AS This is the 6th consecutive Cryogen shave. Using a boar brush, I didn't soak it because I wanted to keep the puck dry so I wetted my face with my hands. Dipped the dry brush onto the puck 3x and then wetted the tips in my cup of water. Again, the lather started to appear but I had to work a little harder to get nice lather. Keep in mind, that this lather is not voluminous, but it is slick enough for me to shave my 1 day stubble. The second pass lather was translucent, but there was enough that I was able to complete the shave. I believe that I needed to dot the brush 5x to get a nicer lather, but my goal is to use the Cryogen without turning it into Vaseline gel. All in all, I achieved a BBS- shave with minor pickups. Double portion of the splash made the shave complete. I kept the cap off the puck so you can see how the soap is doing on this 10 shave journey. Have a great day guys!
