  1. This one has finally made it in the mail, and I couldn’t be happier, after a nice honing session the edge was ready. So on to the shave. The 2018 bos lathered up great, and provided nice coushion and slickness for the Bismarck to effortlessly mow the hairs down. 23BF03B9-77A4-4159-8F95-7B1E108FD30C.jpeg

  6. I was surprised by the name of the soap, Turtle Ships are famous in Korea and related to a very proud time in Korea. Here is the background from Wikipedia. Admiral Yi Sun-Shin is one of the most admired historical figures in Korea. I could not find any reason as to the naming of the soap on their website.

Turtle ships participated in the war against Japanese naval forces supporting Toyotomi Hideyoshi's attempts to conquer Korea from 1592 to 1598.[4] Korean Admiral Yi Sun-Shin, who won all battles against Japanese Navy, is credited with designing the improved turtle ship. His turtle ships were equipped with at least five different types of cannons and greatly contributed to winning 16 times from 16 battles against the Japanese Navy until they were destroyed in the Battle of Chilcheollyang since their first appearance in the Battle of Sacheon (1592). Their most distinguishable feature was a dragon-shaped head at the bow (front) that could launch cannon fire or flames from the mouth. Each was also equipped with a fully covered deck to protect against arrow fire, musket-shots, and incendiary weapons.[5] The deck was covered with iron spikes to discourage enemy men from attempting to board the ship.[5]

Welcome back Paul and what a way to make an entrance. The razor looks fantastic.

  7. Thursday Shave: A flashy 7/8 half hollow Koraat was the razor of choice, PAA CK-6 and a two band Shavemac rounded out this epic shave.

  12. I remember that you had gotten on the list some time ago, and that your number just came up. He makes each razor to order, after you confirm what options you want, correct? If so, that's still a pretty quick turnaround...at least I think so. In contrast, from what folks are saying on DFS, many people who ordered the stainless polished Karve - way back on Black Friday - still haven't received theirs.

  15. Thanks, Jeff! Just judging by the looks, it seemed like injector format only. It's a good looking razor, and from how you describe it, sounds very nice .

  16. I've had a bump on my cheek for quite some time...maybe ingrown hair?? Regardless what it is, I starting using some 100% tea tree oil on it just a few days ago, and that bump is disappearing. My wife's co-worker turned her on to it, claiming how good the stuff is. Gotta say...I thought it was witchcraft initially...now I'm a believer. The downside - it stinks - literally.
  17. True. However, if you order one soap at a time, and do that ten times, that adds up to the price of a Wolfman.
If you order from WCS, you need $45 minimum to get free shipping. That's $450.
If you order from Maggard's, to get free shipping, you need to order $75. That's $750.
Sure, you could just order one soap, and pay for shipping....but, who does that? :D
  18. Isn't that what accountants are supposed to do? ;)
