3rd day of the mini-focus with the Sharp Star razor blade.
It's starting to show signs of degradation in that without buffing, which I am eschewing in this test,
I am barely achieving a DFS.
First the lather.
Second shave with the Turtle soap (that's my new moniker for it)
and it was a glorious as yesterday.
I used a soaked, but well wrung-out brush and all I can say about the CH3 is that it is a
LATHER HOG!!!!!

I literally had to squeeze out the lather from the knot to get to the good stuff inside.
Once it was on my skin, the rest was a snap.
The Fatip is a really credible razor. Whether or not the slant aspect really provides a "better"
shave...that's anyone's guess.
Three passes and like I said earlier, just passed the DFS threshold.
Finished once again with the Santa Maria Novella Patchouli aftershave.
This is not really a splash, as it is somewhat viscous.
The scent isn't smack, pow, boom in your face, but refined and subdued, with
medium sillage, albeit long staying power.

Wonderful shave and post Joseph! I checked out the site and they are out of patchouli. It seems they are a tiny company because they have a small selection of soaps.

He then stropped it on a pasted(?) strop and then on a leather one. I have no idea what the latter sentence means, but my son assured me it was as sharp as my Feather Barber’s razor. In any case I ended up with VBBS cheeks and a DFS neck, which I again cleaned up to VBBS level with the FrankenFamex.

A FB shave brother from down under mentioned that the maker of Suneko nanocoated blades had stopped producing them. They apparently succeeded in developing a blade coating as effective as the venerable Personna 74’s. I usually toss my DE blades after two uses, but my shave today was the 7th shave on this Suneko blade which is still going strong. Blades that last as long as these are clearly not as profitable, thus the shutdown. The blade sheared right through the noggin stubble and is still going strong. I’m glad I purchased as many as I did. My shave today left me cool, clean, and quite velveteen.

RAZOR: Lord 6/8 (Mug), FrankenFamex (Dome)
BLADE: Suneko DE (7)
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with Rabid Banana Preshave Cube
BRUSH: Omega Pro48 Boar
SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat w/ 6 drops of M-Bomb
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH and Osage Rub. Finished with Laura’s Tobacco & Bay Balm.

good morning everyone.fine bbs in 2+ smooth passes courtesy of the old familiar sheraton/platinum combo.been playing with different blades lately,all good,but the mind loves a gillette in a gillette.comfy shoes,you know what i mean..i use ford filters on my mustang as well..the tobs tobacco leaf performed well,built up with the razorock barrel 24 finest badger.scent is nice,cedar,orangey,not a tuscan tobacco scent but still nice.mont blanc legend night edt to finish.awesome.going to hit 30c today..sounds like a cold beverage day..have a great one gents..

I must admit, for the most part it is. The Cactus Nation cut wasn't a serious one, and the Porcupine Alley misses will be taken care of tomorrow. I might try this combo again in the winter sometime. I think I was just tired of the Gillette and needed a break. The only Rise Shaving Foams being sold now are on EBAY and I guess Amazon,but they are small cans. I live near a Dollar Tree and would snap up a large one in a minute if it was there. Even if it was the only one.

Chiseled Face SS and AS

Dipped the dry C-Mon Brush 3x into the puck and then only wet the tips to commence face lathering on my dry face. I got a decent, translucent lather and attained an IBBS++ on 2 passes with one minor touchup. Splashed on the aftershave to end another fine shave in the books. I am finding that you really can get good shaves without heavy loading this soap. The menthol effect is still intense despite the low amount on the brush. Seven shaves down, 3 more to go before I turn in my final report. I will end the month with a straight razor shave. Have a great day guys! View attachment 231412

I plan to Joseph. As I just wrote to the Chemistry Professor from Long Island, I MAY do this combo again one day in the winter, when they should feel better on my skin. But I have enough hards and softs(shaving soap)to get me by.

Shaves as good as today's never get old. The blade performed smoothly and effectively, but in the blade bank it went. Not gonna push this one. 'Twas a very nice blade, yet not a standout in any way. The MWF, on the other hand, never fails to impress. Delightful slickness with incredible post-shave feel. It leaves the skin silky smooth and well nourished. I've truly been enjoying using it since bringing it back out. I need to bring the Tabac out for a few good runs and see if I still prefer it over The Fat.

Thank you Andrew. I do like the star jelly with menthol better than the Chel. The cooling effect is more with the star jelly. It might not last as long but that’s fine with me.
