The SMELL? Certainly you aren't referring to the glorious, manly "grandma's purse" scent? Wear it proudly, wear it loudly.
Hmmph. My wife LOVES the scent of Tabac. When that scent comes out, she gets weak in the knees and asks me to take the day off work for some Oh, alright....that's quite an exaggeration. She does LIKE the scent though...
The Mysterium Serum is ok. Everybody’s skin is slightly different. Tried for a while, ended up PIF’ing it to another TSD member. Too thick, felt like heavy duty sunscreen or some of the face creams my wife uses. For me the Star Jelly is a great Goldilocks balance between a cream/lotion and runny plain witch hazels or the like. For lack of a better comparison, Star Jelly is the consistency and appearance similar to Neosporin. Many lotiony ASBs I’ve tried end up just feeling greasy after 30 minutes, Star Jelly slowly fades away instead, but still leaves a great face feel.
Thank You, Gents. I've an opened project on SV. Actually on the Bullgoose Colonia. It's called “Wax Upon a Time”. http://www.ilrasoio.com/viewtopic.php?p=357866#p357866 About how new firmer formulas last longer ... or not.
Much better shave this morning-course I had different products than yesterday. 0:30 to load the Maggard Marble Handle. A real attractive brush, if I say so myself, which I just did. As usual, the first pass was on the wet side. This may be a reason why I get nicks or cuts-they usually happen on the first pass, when the soap isn;t strong enough to prevent them from happening. I don't know how much sense I just made; just tossing out theories. The Central Texas Soaps spread nicely across my face and neck, given the wetness, fine job in Porcupine Alley. I did indeed get a couple nicks-in the same area as have happened recently(west of the mouth, at the lip closure area). 2nd pass was doing well until I drove over a bump at Cactus Nation. Like many of these cuts, it didn't cause much trouble, although I thought it might, at first. I missed the top of the right "Y" at Nation(just south of the jawline). I always get the left "Y"-perhaps being a lefty is the reason. Finished with Aqua Velva A.S. While the shave felt much better overall than that of yesterday, I could have done a little better. Let's give it a Quite Excellent.
SOTD FRIDAY, JULY 31, 2020 Same old, same old! DFS in three careful passes (WTG, ATG, XTG) on the mug further elevated into the ‘velveteen zone’ thanks to the Feather Super equipped RazoRock Hawk V3. Still struggling with straight razor stubble reduction. Minor right cheek weeper on my third and final XTG pass which disappeared after my MWF wash with the brush squeezings. The Hawk made short work of the noggin stubble in two passes (WTG, ATG) leaving me again velveteen, clean and cool! RAZOR: DD Goldedge (Mug), Hawk V3 (Dome & Mug Cleanup) BLADE: Feather Super AC PREP: Cold water rinse followed by Rabid Banana Preshave Cube BRUSH: Alpha Shaving T-400 Tribute w/ 24mm Synthetic Knot Ferrule SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat w/ 6 drops of M-Bomb POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Mentholated Mysterium Serum.

Last shave of my REX ramp up expiriment Back down to 3P 2.5/1.75/1 for face and neck and 2P+ 2.5/1.5 +for head BBS+face, BBS-head and DFS++ for neck. No buffing used and very little touch up required. Probably stay on at this setting for a bit before I figure out some other thing. I've missed toying with my other razors and have not tried out the new Colonial General much yet.
