My shave today was exemplary! I’ve been hesitant to shave with the Lord razor because of the Spanish Point blade. My son apparently shaved with this razor after sharpening it, and reported that it was his favorite of my straight razors. I must admit that the shave was good, resulting in the usual DFS. For my cleanup today, I used my Father’s Gold Black Beauty opened up all the way to cleanup the mug. Something about the head geometry of Gillette’s split cap TTO design impacts their efficiency compared to full cap designs Of earlier razors which tend to hold the blade more rigidly. The result is less chatter and cleaner more efficient cut. I did reach the desired VBBS level, but it required an extra pass. Two cleanup passes (ATG, ATG) for the mug and three for the dome (WTG, ATG, ATG). No matter, I feel cool, clean a very velveteen!.
