I just shaved tonight with a Gillette Old Type. I put a shot of Barbasol Soothing Aloe in my Captain's Choice lather bowl and worked the lather with a wet Plisson Synthetic brush. It comes out very nice that way and provides an excellent shave. I quite like that stuff, and really don't know what all the fuss is about with people not liking canned shave cream. In fact, I try to get my soaps and creams to match the consistency (more or less) of the Barbasol stuff. I've even blended a bit of Proraso Green line soap, and also Nivea Cream with Barbasol with good results. I could use it (Barbasol) exclusively and have no problem.
Barbasol is the only canned stuff I'll ever use. Looks like a good quick shave. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
So Gary, where's the soft brush you used to whip up the Barbasol? I love applying mine after a little whipping with a synthetic. Must have forgotten it in the pic l ol?
Not a real Schick. It's some No-Name off-brand I picked up on Amazon. It shaves great, but I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for something of quality.
Soon my regular Gillette will be done, and I'll go back to Barbasol, I decided. They don't have the Century Can, but at least the other types say "Est. 1919" on them.
