  3. Thank you Jeff. I am feeling much better today. I have been working remotely all morning. I think I am Covid negative but I want to make sure before going into a client site on Thursday.

  5. Tuesday's Shave

Gillette NEW LC w/ Thin Handle
    Gillette Platinum (2)
    The Crazy Badger
    Tabac Shaving Soap Stick
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Tabac Aftershave

Last week, I dipped my toes into the Tabac waters by just trying the soap first. Because of all the differing opinions on Tabac, I wasn't sure if I would like the scent but I was sure that I would enjoy the lather qualities. So, I paired it with Alt Innsbruck last week and it was a great combination. I did enjoy the Tabac scent though. So, later that day I found a bottle of Tabac aftershave on sale with free Amazon Prime shipping and we now arrive at today's shave. Wonderful in all aspects! I am a Tabac fan. I asked my two kids what they thought of the scent and they both gave their approval. My Son said he recognizes the scent, but doesn't know from exactly where. He said it reminds him of his Uncle Raymond (his mom's uncle) and I can say that from my experiences being around him, he was the epitome of "manliness." So, the naysayers can take their "grandmas purse" description and store it wherever they'd like. :D

As for today's shave, 2.5 passes with the NEW LC provided a BBS+ result with no irritation or mishaps. The post shave feel is excellent and I am smelling great!

    Happy Tabac Tuesday!

  12. Yes, the force is strong with this one. In all seriousness, I purchased my first straight in 2002., the Theirs-Issard Super Gnome. I attempted to use it, not realizing that a factory hone was not sufficient. It was not until about three years ago that I had it properly honed. What a difference! From that point forward I have not amassed a total of 19 straights and 3 shavettes, one of which is a kamosori type.. [IMG]

I obtained my current “first” DE razor, the Merkur 37c, in the mid 1990’s. I predominantly shave with this razor until three years ago when I start to add to my DE collection. Currently, I have 11 DE razors. Furthermore, I have added 5 Gem or Gem type razors and one injector razor.

This collection, small or large by some standards of the 30DC group, allows me to have variety in my shave approach. Prior, to my JustOneJuly theme, I was using my straights approximately 70% of the time. I enjoy the challenge, the concentration and the sense of accomplishment of this type of shave. I have attempted to incorporate more of the other razors this month.

I'm pretty meh about the scent on this one. I've been using it once a week to work my way through it.

  20. definitely gotta say, it does not cut as close as my de razors. But they are good in a pinch especially if you need to shave fast.
