August 12, 2020 Blackland Brass Bird Gillette 7 O’clock Yellow Thäter Synthetic Godrej Lime Shave Cream Myrsol Agua de Limon WSP Oud Citron Cologne I might feel like a 4 or 5 out of 10 but I have been pretty productive this morning. After knocking out several work projects, a relaxing shower and shave seemed like just the ticket. I decided to bowl lather the Godrej lime cream today. The cream works pretty well. Honestly it works much better than I anticipated but it will not be on the "Buy Again" list. Three passes and touch ups just missed the baby. My lower right neck was my nemesis once again. A splash of Agua de Lemon and WSP Oud Citron cologne left me smelling great. Not that anyone would notice since I am working remote. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
AUgust Focus Tallow + Steel Sicily~~Simpson Persian Jar 3~~1941 Ranger Tech/Sharp Star Day Two, using Tallow + Steel shave soap. Today: Sicily. This product produces a very greasy, gooey lather, that demands MORE hydration. I am not a huge fan of lather that looks like runny marshmallow cream. So, I worked diligently to get enough H2O into the soap and the results were just how I like it. The soap is very oily, given that 6 of the ingredients are indeed oil. This may not be for every skin type, but if you want slippery, this is for you. Regarding the scent; at first I anticipated a clone of Acqua di Parma Colonia. I was mistaken. This is a much darker take on the "orange". AdP is much brighter. The shave was great and the finish with the Sicily AS kind of disappointed. It is produced without alcohol and witch hazel. It goes on without sting and you get a hit of orange PEEL---slightly bitter. It's been an hour and I can barely smell it anymore. Verdict: I like yesterday's Indian Bay better, it's more interesting to my nose. The soap base is quite good if you like an oily soap. It should be noted that it does rinse off well. The AS, imo, is a waste of $$. You're better off with witch hazel and a fragrance that suits you with some sillage and staying power.
Excellent report, Joseph. Sorry the AS was a dud, but at least the shave itself went well otherwise. I think I will stay away from this soap/AS set though. Beautiful Ranger Tech and the Persian Jar is a timeless classic!
Wednesday's Shave Personna Injector Razor Personna Injector Blade Turn-N-Shave 'Party Brush' Erasmic Shaving Soap Dickinson's Witch Hazel Pinaud Lilac Vegetal Yes, I was enabled again. I took my 20% off coupon to the local Bed Bath & Beyond yesterday and purchased the 12oz bottle of Lilac Vegetal for a grand total of $5.76. After testing two separate cycles of the aftershave on my hands/wrists last evening, I decided it is a keeper. Erasmic was a good pairing with The Veg today, and they have both been around forever. 3 passes today with the Personna Injector Razor (I still don't know the official name if it has one) provided a BBS result with no irritation and or mishaps. I hope y'all have a great Wednesday!
Thank you, Jim! Two weeks in a row for me. Last week: Tabac. This week: The Veg. Maybe I will go buy a Lotto ticket today...
It actually smells like Lilacs, love that scent as opposed to Eau de Urinal Cake. If you look up the history of the Veg, it was originally developed as an antiseptic for cavalrymen.
Thanks, James. Thank you, Clint. Let's see how the Kyoto is tomorrow and then I'll be able to really focus my enabling skills. Thanks, Andrew. I just re-applied with a dry face and I have to say it smell great going on. Maybe, if I combine it with a spritz of AdP Colonia EdT... Take a look at this soap, perfect with The Veg. https://www.mystic4men.com
