  1. Thanks, Joe! I notice that the tip of the blade sticks out! I’ve cut myself with other slants in the same way!

    ASW Old Virginia~~Rooney~~Boker Hollow Ground
At least the Rooney handle resembles gold.
But, indeed today was a gold-medal shave.
Had a desire for a nice tobacco shave and the Asylum Shave Works was just the ticket.
The tallow-based lather is quite lovely and with the Rooney, I decided to face-lather.

The Best Badger is incredibly soft and devoid of any hint of prickliness or scritch.
The razor is the German hollow ground Boker.
I actually stropped it last evening, so I was ready to go this morning.
Excellent jaw-line work today, especially on the right side of my face,
utilizing the toe-down stroke. This position has really improved the quality of my straight shaves.
I have been post-shave spoiled the last few days, because the ASW sort of
drops the ball in this category. Not a deal-breaker,
    but something to be noted.
The aftershave made me forget all that and the combination of the alcohol
and the...whatever they use to scent it, put my spirits in fine-fiddle.
A terrific compliment for this aftershave would be Aramis Tobacco Reserve.

  6. Tom’s razor designs are amazing! His Bunny and TAR razors were amazing. I’m really not a slant fan, but it was Tom’s work, so I gave it a swing!

  14. I just started using MWF and like it. To me it seems almost scentless, so good if I'm going to use a scented balm or aftershave (rare). I don't get a great thick lather, (yet) but good enough, I never thought a 3 inch deep lather helmet does more than otherwise.

At the same time I got the variety pack of Razorrock shave sticks. I am VERY pleasantly surprised that they are different from eachother at least in scent, not overbearing and also make a nice slick lather. I put them in a plastic twist dispensers.
