Razor “No.2” from a Wade & Butcher 3 razor Gentleman’s set. I feel pretty good that the box is original as the scales, blade and grind seem to fit the 1890’s to early 1900’s window. What I don’t feel good about is that “No.1” didn’t time travel with the other two.

The box gives me a great narrow window of time... George Appleton opened a retail business (cutlery included) in 1883 as Appleton & Litchfield. Looks like the name changed to Appleton & Bassett in 1893. Their doors closed in 1901. Looks like 1893-1901 dates this set.

Went with a Shapton 16k edge on this one and the combo was excellent.

@lightcs1776, Thank you! It was custom made by Jayaruh who is a TSD member. It has a silvertip knot with rosewood handle. I believe it is Brazilian rosewood, but don't hold me to it. Obviously, it has the Celtic knot design. However, there is a decorative cross medallion on the bottom of the handle. Personally, that's what makes it special to me.
