Razor “No.2” from a Wade & Butcher 3 razor Gentleman’s set. I feel pretty good that the box is original as the scales, blade and grind seem to fit the 1890’s to early 1900’s window. What I don’t feel good about is that “No.1” didn’t time travel with the other two. :(

The box gives me a great narrow window of time... George Appleton opened a retail business (cutlery included) in 1883 as Appleton & Litchfield. Looks like the name changed to Appleton & Bassett in 1893. Their doors closed in 1901. Looks like 1893-1901 dates this set.

Went with a Shapton 16k edge on this one and the combo was excellent.

Zowada timehagane, on loan from a friend of mine. I’m thinking seriously aout acquiring one based on the experience of those that have them. The price is a heavy lift though!

@lightcs1776, Thank you! It was custom made by Jayaruh who is a TSD member. It has a silvertip knot with rosewood handle. I believe it is Brazilian rosewood, but don't hold me to it. Obviously, it has the Celtic knot design. However, there is a decorative cross medallion on the bottom of the handle. Personally, that's what makes it special to me.

Thanks Karl... can’t let you have all the fun with ivory clad, shoulderless Sheffield’s. :)

    Wade & Butcher “No.3”

You know we would love to see you add one to your collection!
An artist taking local iron ore and turning it into a razor piece of art... doesn’t get much better than that.

I am curious to hear your impression after a couple of shaves. It is on my list of dream razors to add to the den..... but they are not for free.

An ERN with elaborate spine work and a good shaver.

Soap was 'more for your barber' and AS Williams aqua velva ice.

Joseph Rodgers, one of a pair also, Tom inspired me to use one for this shave. Soap was Floris along with Floris balm.
