  1. Thanks! The scales are a faux tortoise shell amber color. They are original I believe.

Looking through the scales to the steel tang between them, one can see surface staining, not bad, but it’s there. Purchased a year ago from Shave Armory, who did some light restoration buffing and rehoned very nicely. A few spots on the front blade face did get some pitting, but still in very nice shape. The price did reflect the issues (a little ).

I’ve thought about trying a rescale and light restore on the tang sometime in the future. Have the machinery now, just not the time. Have a couple other ‘user grade’ straights and knives in line before to acquire some skills.....

  9. Tonight I thought I would switch things up, and use a de razor. I’m not sure how many shaves this blade has been used for, but hey it was doing good why change it!

    Razor; Milord
    Blade; Vokshod
    Brush; JR 185 boar
    Soap; Stirling Gentlemen
    As: Nivea post shave balm

The end result was very good, even with being out of practice using a de, thankfully the milord is a somewhat forgiving razor. Now I smell good and feel smooth. DC8F34C7-D8A8-4FB6-957C-ADEF937C76AB.jpeg

  11. Very nice Paul! I have looked at JR's brushes and I don't remember seeing that one in his pics. It stands out so I should have remembered it.
