Don't worry about me, Jim! I like to think that being really busy is a sign that I'm needed, at least.
Glad to hear your schedule will return to 'normal' soon.

The one most important technique difference....it's a biggie. If you have a muscle memory of when you expect a blade to land, it will be sooner than you expect with a bigger blade. You'll only make that mistake once , hopefully never now that I pointed it out.

Otherwise, the difference is mostly razor weight. I favor half/quarter hollow or near wedge styled razors, and when blades are the 7/8 or larger widths, the weight tends to be more noticeable. Some of it with the razors I have are either from the thicker spine (square or round), thicker grind, or both.

thank you Joseph..the gillette goodwill razors were a transition razor between the 3 hole blades and the modern ones we have today .built between 1929 and 34? ish.the early ones would use both types of blades while the later ones just used the modern blades.. 1931 GoodWill 175-160.jpeg 1931-1935 Goodwill.jpg 1931-1935 Goodwill French Set.jpg
there we many variants made..some for just one year..these pictured are the most common..fine shaves..the rare ones used new series parts like pinned caps and such and they would't accept 3 hole blades..most of the goodwill razors were handed out free ,only paying for the blades..the brit and french were sold as normal ,would have to research that more..
