  1. Thanks Joe....I should be fine-just a routine physical. Course the doc might notice something I haven't noticed.

  2. Congratulations, Andrew! There’s no better feeling than when your personal shaving technique based on your unique beard grain reaches the point that you can pump out BBS after BBS. Great shave!

  7. it is a well earned skill and not one for the frugally minded..i can understand the club-mindedness being a volvo specialist..if i was a pure hearted gillette evangelist i could say gillette has shaved the most people, the most whiskers, most miles of hair and so on..but i am not,so i won't..i like it here at TSD..where the weenies get weeded out in short order..friendliness and encouragement promotes growth in the hobby..:)
  8. Same rain here. Those Gulf tropical storms are going to keep it wet here for a while I believe.

  14. Good thinking. You would have to change your handle to "Lighting Rod" if that happened.

  17. Thanks, Joe! I said killing the edge, but I’m really only removing the rough chaff. The bevel on all my razors are well set, so there’s no need to reset it. I like to think that I’m refining it in the spirit of master honer, Howard Schechter featured in one of Nickshaves’s videos. After removing the chaff I hone the razor on my jasper stone without slurry under water. There’s no need, I’m simply refining the edge. It’s worked beautifully on two of my razors. I plan on using it with all my razors with a decent bevel. All I know is that the shave feels much better afterwards. So to use your terminology, I’m a big fan of smooth sharp.
  18. Excellent Fatboy shave Andrew.
