  6. :thanks: ..... it preforms great! Funny I've been deliberating about what knot to install in my Simpson Chubby 1 and I think I already found it. now it's just a question of bulb or fan top.

  7. a fan would give it some wings when bloomed..i love that look..:)i am undecided performance wise.they both perform well..

  8. My KH#3 has a fan ..... I my try the bulb. It's also more traditional for a Chubby.

Well, my last shave with this Golden Icon of razor history.:( The Last shave was perhaps one of the best with it yet. Loaded with a fresh Feather blade and this thing brings whiskers to its knees. It was an excellent shave to close it out before getting it ready to return it to its owner. My efforts to acquire one have been turned up 10 fold. A good night and great shaves to all....
  13. fabulous shave and pic Gus..i hope you find one soon..:)

  16. No, not yet but, I might have to go that route with some of the ridiculous prices I’ve seen so far. We’ll see.... :angry032:

  17. they seem to be all over the map, clean ones for cheap and crap for high $$..i would trust an unscrewed with set over an uncased but..with their assumed value i would approach a trusted source..just my 2 bits.i do this when i spend $$ on brit aristocrats.too many folks think a crap one is valuable..i buy them for good function, not just show..i am probably preaching to the choir..sorry Gus..:(
  18. Not at all Gary. I hear what your saying. And honestly, that’s sound advice. I have a couple connections that I can rely on if need be. In the end it can be a crap shoot and sometimes you just have to take a calculated risk. Hopefully I hit on a decent one. Not looking for a museum piece but, not a pile of crap neither. They’re out there, just got to get lucky and grab one when you see it.....
