  2. Great looking razor, Joe! I plan to acquire a new one at some point! Their reputation is stellar!

  3. Love the look of those bakelite products, Gary. Your B&W photos is a great effect as well.

  4. Nice combo, Joe. What is the significance of the baseball in your photo?

  5. That is a super cool shave, Gary. The lighting and shadows on the B&W image remind me of being in the plains of Kansas during the 1930s just prior to the Big One. In other words, it reminds me of The Wizard of Oz. Seriously.

Be careful or you shave den might be carried over to The Land of Tabac. If so, you'll meet 3 other friends that will help you get through the (Bad) Land of MWF first.

  6. Sorry to hear about the Red on the Head, Jeff. Love those Aluminum brushes by Evan. Very quality work.
  7. Because stropping is painful for me, I’ve found that a few polishing strokes with clear water maintain a nice smooth edge. I strop, but on a paddle strop lying flat in front of me. After my touch up I only need about four or five strops. The honemeister who taught Ben never strops!
  8. It shaved great, but my OCD wouldn't allow me to keep a razor that didn't close exactly evenly. That doesn't mean that I cannot recognize a good razor and continue to long for one.
  9. @brit Gary, just remember to always carry your nose plugs in case of such an eventuality! If you reach the land of Tabac and have forgotten the plugs, a ladies garden club membership will satisfy the border guards. If you have neither, you’ll be able to remain in the land of shave perfection!

  10. Thank you, Gentlemen, for the birthday wishes. I don't feel a day over 68...:eatdrink047:
I cannot recommend the MonoBilt any more highly. Simply one of my favourite shavers. Too bad there aren't more of them out there.

  11. Thanks, Jason, but it was really a non issue! Could not for the life of me locate the weeper. But you’re spot on about Evan’s brushes! Mine is one of my faves!

  16. These 3 guys were 24 years old, 6'4" tall, and 240 lbs. each before they started using MWF. I'm not ready to draw any conclusions, but I wouldn't fool around too much in The (Bad) Land of MWF.

At least they still retained their natural talents, including the gifts of song and dance. And their skin looks oh so smoooooooth. :)

  19. Today started off unexpectedly. We visited dear friends yesterday, and they called this morning to tell us they both tested positive for COVID. They had been tested earlier in the week, and they are mostly asymptomatic. My buddy has a loss of taste, and his wife has a dry cough (pretty common 'round these parts.) Thankfully, we took proper precautions when we were with them. Kathy's docs believe we had a low-risk exposure and that we'll be OK. We'll call the docs back at the first sign of any symptoms, and regardless, we're self-quarantining for 14 days. We've let everyone 'round here know to stay away. We've had to juggle our schedule, and a friend is thankfully dropping off groceries and other necessities.

We try to be careful, but I suppose this sort of thing was bound to happen at some point.

During all this hubbub, I skipped my morning shave. An evening shave may be in order.

    Stay safe, everyone.
