  1. He’s just a great teacher, takes after his mother, she was a Professor of Nursing at UPenn. I still miss her!
  2. It's a beauty, Jim. @MrEE has some wonderful talent!

  3. You keep posting those beautiful shaves and backyard photos, Jeff, and we'll be coming to your place for the next meetup. It brings back memories of the last one we had.

  4. Great kit, Maestro! Are those just lighting artifacts or are there black striations on that straight blade?

  7. Oh, my...wow, I'm truly flattered. :signs001:

But... @Keithmax @Edison Carter @Trigger will probably have more of a historic knowledge than I. There is a current thread in the straight razor section where Boker has been compared/recommended with names such as TI, Dovo, Ralf Aust and more.

From my little world, any Boker is a well made straight razor, great reviews, awesome German Solingen steel, good for everyone, beginners or professionals based on blade size purchased. Boker has a long history being a manufacturers all types of cutting implements. One of the few 'mass' manufacturers of these products still in existence. Although I think they may have wound the razor division down....not sure.

Personally, I don't own any Boker blades. I went for Puma as a name I knew from childhood for my first straight, then a few of the other Solingen brands. I was (still am) a BST shopper, rarely saw them (which means owners keep them!), so it was a couple other familiar names Henkels (which we have a set of kitchen knives), Filarmonica, Husgën & Ern, Wade & Butcher, etc. Then my blade addiction/enabling was (still is) more the artisan brands I see in the 'What Straight Razor Did You Use Today' threads here. Name any of those guys posting regularly and they are ones I mimic/mirror/watch for their thoughts.

I hope that is some worthwhile feedback for you!

  10. Great story, and one that makes for wonderful memories., Blair, do you own the western Feather DX? I have both Feather was SS razors, but find they don’T shave like a traditional straight. I’m told the DX is more Straight-like. Has that been your experience. I’ll be selling my SS razors.
  11. Thanks guys!
I checked with one of my friends, here, Paul. Neither one of us have heard of sugar-free chocolate anything.

Thanks Joe. She did. A few days later, she hit a pretty rough stretch that lasted several weeks. She never gave up, had the first negative word, or lost faith. She did Rosie proud.
One day, I teased a young guy that had left the hospital if I could have his sticker...to avoid the daily symptom assessment line at the door when I got there. He reached up to peel it off... I laughed and told him it was a joke...

You saw people wearing these 'day of the week' stickers all over town. Even outdoors all around town, most people were masked too. It was actually a pretty good system that helped keep everyone safe. Although we were in large (socially distanced) groups nearly every day, we never felt that we were at risk.

  16. We'll review any electrical designs with @MrEE and @b1hart to make sure they're up to code. I'll bring Twister as long everyone agrees not to wear The Veg. We can't swim, eat ice cream, and talk shaving all day.

  17. More than worthwhile. Thank you for taking the time to enlighten me. I browse the SR thread, but I am not a regular. Some of those razors that @Steve56 and @Billyfergie exhibit are out of this world gorgeous. @Karl G is no slouch either. ;)
