Thanks, Jim. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work well with safety razors! If you read the feedback there’s a lot of complaints about how it gums up the safety razor, and makes cart shaving virtually impossible. It was really nice to use with the Tanifuji! Left my skin feeling amazing. There is no soap or soap product in it. It’s mostly skin cream and lubricant.

Lovely shave, PierPaolo! How’s that cart working for you? I can’t use them, unfortunately, they give me ingrown hairs. I’ve never shaved my face with one, and don’t plan to. I’m enjoying the straight shaves too much!

Sept 4 2020 Favorite Friday Shave

Today, I hit a milestone with my 200th shavette shave and decided to use my Dovo shavette. It was an appropriate choice because this razor introduced me to straight shaving. The JR #386 is my favourite brush because it is quite soft and really produces great lathers. Stirling Satsuma is one of my favorite scents, but by the looks of the tub, I hardly use it. Anyway, I did a 2 pass shave without touchups for BBS on my face and near BBS on my neck. There wasn't any irritation or blood flowing anywhere. Double splashed the fine scented Satsuma aftershave to end this shave. My next shave will be this Sunday and that will be my 200th traditional straight razor shave and will appropriately use my first straight razor, my Dovo Special. Have a great and safe weekend guys!

It’s weird, but wonderful stuff, Clint. It doesn’t lather, but spreads nicely with a brush. There is no soap product in it, but it is viscous. So much so that it apparently gums up carts and requires continual rinsing in hot water with safety razors. It left my face feeling amazing, even hours after the shave!

Great shave, Clint. As I said before the brush and razor look like they were made for each other!
