  1. Thanks guys for adding the stretching component of open blade shaving. I assumed @dvdhviid David was stretching his skin so I didn't mention it. I know, I know, when you assume...

  11. Great idea, Gary. Something tells me that @Trigger and @JACarbone would make excellent debt collectors.

  12. Thank you, Terry. I think we're on the same wavelength, which probably disturbs some of the people here that still have their marbles. (We're almost past Labor Day, so you better stock up on blades for the winter. I woke up in a cold sweat the other night and ended up buying another 1000 blades. I have just over 3100 in inventory, but I can always get more if needed.)

I may not have my marbles, but I have Tabac and Feathers.
  13. Wow, that’s fast!

  14. Id like to suggest slowly advancing partial shaves starting open edge and finish with a more comfortable tool.

I committed a time allocation of 1 hour (straight stropping included) for 100 shaves.

I started cheeks only 1 pass, at about 3 weeks I was able to comfortably do full shaves open edge in a time if 40 minutes.

It'll come in time and with practice like it does for everyone.

I could not see myself even doing a full pass in the beginning.

The last time that I woke up like that I got s buy on 800 feathers.
    I've been ok since.
    Glad your doing fine.

    Semogue 26mm BC Mistura
    Stirling Orange Chill
    Superior 70 Bay Rum

First shave of September and it was a nice one. I finished off the tub of Orange Chill today and am now down to my last soap, an open puck of MWF.

    2 passes, nice comfortable shave.
  19. You really have our talents down to a tee, Gary!
