This is Day 7 of SEptember. On deck is the Gem 1924 Shovelhead.

The Virgilio Valobra Shaving Soap face-lathered well with Jayaruh #340 Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Ever-Ready 1924 razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

I put my Damaskeene open comb to work this morning. It was a close and comfortable shave!

Razor: Star Bar #4 Lather catcher-Mfg 1920 by the Kampfee Brothers N.Y, one of the last models of lather catchers to leave their factory, Star was famous world wide for their lather catchers & earliest safety razors mfg in N.America.
Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE (5) Excellent blade.
Soap: Razorock The Dead Sea - like the scent alot and it has great lather qualities.
Brush: Razorock Noir 400 Plissoft black whiskers- Great brush, reminds me of my boar brush with soft tips.
Pre shave: Brush wash my whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock The dead Sea aftershave with witch hazel + a small dollop of Nivea balm.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= excellent shave with my Star bar #4 model L.Catcher !

Really liking this Heavyweight since reverting to use of a No2 plate. Todays Shave very smooth and comfortable.maybe mild for some folk but allows me to clear my heavy beard without fuss.Have yet to try it out as a Daily Shaver but could well do that over the next few days.

 

Thank you. I'm really loving the shaves I'm getting using this razor with the vintage stropping blades. Its like a straight razor on a stick.

This little razor just keeps getting better and better. I'm just amazed every time I use this Lather Catcher I love to shave with straight razors but I just can't stop using this razor. It gives the smoothest most comfortable close shave I've ever had from any razor other than a straight razor. This little razor is stealing my heart.
