    Fine Santal Absolut Aftershave

Day one of the 7 day challenge. I decided to go with the OneBlade Genesis using a Gem blade with the spine removed. This particular Genesis holds the blade without any further mods. Using the Heritage Dubl Duck with the new TnS boar not for the next 7 days should help the break in process. While 7 days with the RMBC Sandalwood cream should have it on the ropes and close to finished. The Dubl Duck lathered and the RMBC cream with ease. I have found that using the OneBlade like a traditional DE or SE will work but the results are generally not great. I have found that pushing in and engaging the pivot mechanism while using long smooth shave strokes give me fantastic results. As expected I ended up with an automatic drama free BBS shave. A splash of Fine Santal and I am ready of the day. I have a video annual board meeting for our HOA in North Carolina this afternoon. I only hope the meeting is as quick and drama free as my shave this morning. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.
  3. awesome shave and pics Joseph, glad you like the A&E..how was the post shave feel?
  4. I am really concerned about you Charlie. Ever since you completed the bottle of Clubman you sense of smell seems to have been severely impacted. :happy097:

good morning gents..day one of my schick "66" challenge.loaded oa bit of DBS in my copper bowl and built a nice slick creamy lather, tried to drown it a little to get that wet lather.got the lather,it took the water.farthest i have pushed stirling so far.usual face wash then applied the lather, fresh chick blade in the "blue lady"{Jim Morrison's nickname for his blue 67 shelby gt500}fabulous first pass, nice and smooth.took most of the whiskers away.2nd pass south to north with some detours where needed.awesome.plus pass was little but got some irritation on the lower neck where the trouble starts so i stayed there.fine near bbs.typical of all my schick shaves to date.will improve over that in the coming shaves.awesome first drive..deep blue sea aftershave to finish..will include some more automotive bits and trivia from here on in as well.have a fine day everyone..
  10. Thank you Gary.

  13. Nice start with the G7DC Jeff!

I’ve read a lot of suggestions on using shavettes mention a spines width off the skin surface for a starter shaving angle. I won’t disagree, because everyone shaves using various pressures, amounts of skin stretching as well as all sorts of different tools. This lends itself to different angles.

Using the AC DX, however, that much angle (a spines width) isn’t what works best for me. That’s irritation city. It’s barely half a spines width on the cheeks, and practically riding the face of the ‘blade’ surface, if not the spine sometimes that produces the best shave for the neck.

  18. Glad your shave went well! I have spent my time lightening the touch of blade to skin! Sounds like the opposite is true for the Genesis. Glad it works for you, Clint! My grandson loves it.
  19. Glad the shave went well, Gary! As you know a Schick injector shave is very different from a Gillette DE both in razor angle and technique! I love Schick razors, although I’m having problyof my own with my Type L. In 7 days we’ll both be in a better place!
  20. Very nice shave, pics and obviously the gear Maestro! I guess you are growing the facial hair to prepare for the cooler weather or is it for a change in your appearance?
