Another drive by posting. Too busy too catch up on the thread. I hope I did not miss to many good ones.

Saturday was a butterscotch themed shave, with my Rooney brush, Dorko 7/8 full hollow and Tabac. A nice shave indeed, this is one of my favorite razors.

Sunday I went with a big smile, a 9/8 grinning Mike Martinez. This razor does have a wickedly sharp edge and is used when I have plenty of time for my shave. An excellent Sunday shave and then a walk in the park with my woman and even a quick cigar.
    IMG_9531.jpeg
Monday back to work safety razor shave, my Joris with Feather blade (2) and MWF in the house, a fine shave.

    G7DC Shave # 3
    DE Shave # 285

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Merkur 37c Slant
    Blade: Treet Classic
    Brush: Silver Blue
    Lather: Stirling Spice
    Aftershave: B & M Reserve Spice
    Additional Care:
    Barbero Alum Block
Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

So starts the first full week of this hybrid whatever you want to call it. The third day of G7DC has me smelling just as good as the first two. What I have come to realize, confirming what I had suspected, that my Stirling soaps do not lather as well with my badgers. I do not manage to get as thick of a lather, it is still slick but on the thinner side. Regardless, my face is smooth and to quote the Basal Barbarian, “Velveteen “.
    Have an enjoyable day gentlemen.

SOTD MONDAY MORNING, SEPTEMBER 14, 2020

Although it’s a bit gloomy this morning, my shave was gratifying. I’m really liking my new Feather DX. I switched back to a Proguard blade and discovered that the shave was every bit as close as it was with the Feather Super. So that’s that! I prefer the Super in my AC safety razors, and now know I can use it in my DX. My preference is for the Proguard in the latter though, as it is designed to prevent horizontal slicing, which shaky old me is prone to. Day 3 of the G7DC was an unmitigated success with new learning. Choking up on the handle of the Paul Revere did help a great deal, bit there was still one crevasse on the back of my dome with just the hint of stubble. So I tried something unique and different. Grabbing the DX by the blade with both hands, I was able to, with the lightest touch, and a fair bit of anxiety, remove that recalcitrant stubble resulting in a velveteen shave for both mug and dome without resorting to one of my AC safety razors. I feel fresh and finally velveteen!

RAZOR: Feather Wood Handle DX Barber’s Razor (Mug), Schick Paul Revere L Type Safety Razor (Dome)
BLADE: Feather Proguard (Mug), Schick Injector II (Dome)
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by Argan Oil
BRUSH: MrEE Knurled Aluminum Handle #007 w/ Hybrid Knot
    CREAM: Nancy Boy Signature
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brushsqueezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH and Osage Rub. Finished with Pre de Provence Bergamot & Thyme Balm and Argan Oil.
