There are no honing marks on the spine. Ben suggested taping it before I use the jasper stone. So that's what I'll do. Thanks again!
Thanks, Gary. Michelle's been making soaps for quite a while now. You only have to look at a Celestino post. It's his sole brand.
I was taught how to back up using mirrors. The father of a girl I was dating at the time taught me how. I'm grateful for his advice and teaching. Some vehicles, such as the vans we drive at work, don't have a view out of the back. If you can't use mirrors to back up, you're sorta screwed.

Back to the soap sample focus today..... Probably just one more shave left with this sample, which is Stirling Bergamot Lavender. The puck, having been around awhile in this little cat dish, has lost most of its scent. Still some there, just not potent. The soap still does the "Stirling Thing" and generates lots of good, slick lather. Giving it lots and lots of water, added slowly, a little at a time, made a wonderful slick base for the razor to glide across. The blade wasn't nearly as smooth as yesterday, but it worked and left my face smooth. The blade shall be binned in favor of a new one. I think for tomorrow I'll switch to another seldom used razor - the Schick G8, which has a considerable amount of blade feel. Subject to change, as always... Have a great Monday, gents!
Thank you so much, Blair. I just received some great news myself. My chest CT scan last Friday showed no changes to the area being monitored. That's twice in a row, so I hope my doc is ready to call it good.
Thanks Bruce! Yes, the Hungarian Lavender is a winner. Scent and performance are great. Mike's is definitely a "top 5" soap in my den.
