  3. Thanks, Joe! BoS (Tsuka) is a very nice cologne type scent. This is from Stirling:

Based on the original Hanae Mori. Bold, bright, and mesmerizing. This scent starts with bold citrus and lavender notes followed by floral notes of jasmine, iris, lily of the valley, and Bulgarian rose. Finally, the base is a rich composition of moss, cedar, tonka, vanilla, chocolate and amber.

  8. Lovely shave, PierPaolo! Is that rust on the tang around the pivot pin? Some thick slurry and a copper brush should clean it up. Enjoy your day!

  9. Great shave, Joe! You're blessed to have a second go round with your son! I remember those days fondly. My youngest grandson, Nate, spent the night with us. He reminded me of his father as he followed me into the bathroom to watch me shave. I grabbed a blade-less Gillette Slim, lathered him up, and we had our shave together. It was a hoot! We had a great conversation. He watched me straight shave my mug with the DX and was fascinated. Later we went downstairs and had a bowl of Cheerios together to start the morning while grandma slept on. Then we set up the old Lionel train set that used to be his dads. He asked me if Santa ever came and picked up old daddy Christmas presents and gave them to their sons? Great morning!

  11. I use a coticule slurry stone on an ark. I've considered hunting up a Jnat slurry stone to use the same way. I ain't afraid of no stinking rabbit hole.

  13. You might find that Gold Dollar to be a decent shaver.

Mine was once I got the edge right.

It had a nice heft to it.

  15. Oh my! Thank heaven’s for Ben’s rock garden! He’s got Norton’s, Naniwas, old Choseras, arks, Zulus??, Imperia La Roccia (ILR, A natural finishing stone he loves), Arks, Thuringians, coticules, Belgian blues, slates, Eshers, a bunch of jnats and Lord knows what else. I took one of his ILR stones. He uses them for his touch ups. I now have these Pride stones, my jasper, an extra Shapton 1000, and the ILR. I think I’m set. I love tuning up these edges.

  18. My son Ben is a bladesmith, and he uses his finger with coticule or jasper slurry to work around the engraving. You can use a copper or aluminum brush with Slurry to clean up around the pivot pin. I’ve seen Ben do it with rusty razors he buys on EBay, restores and then resells.
