I don't want to argue. I am well aware of this forums policies. However, I had to explain why I didn't go to NYC and mentioning the social unrest, etc. Everyone here knows the deal and knows what's up. I am not calling anyone out on their politics, I am stating what everyone knows.

I’m sorry, but I patently disagree. Making a comment about the effectiveness of a current president is the very definition of a political discussion.
We are basically an unmoderated forum at this point, and I do not intend to take on that role, but we went years on here without anyone declaring their political party or making those type of value judgements and saying ‘everyone knows the deal’ when quite clearly there are differing political opinions at play. I say this, respectfully, as a Canadian without a vested opinion in US politics, but I wouldn’t want Canadian political discussions on here either.

An interesting thing came to mind when you mentioned the years.

In that era I think blades were carbon steel at .006" thickness.

    Today's blades are .004" stainless.

Could have an effect on handling.

    G7DC Shave # 6
    DE Shave # 287

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Merkur 37c Slant
    Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock (Green)
    Brush: Silver Blue
    Lather: Stirling Spice
    Aftershave: B & M Reserve Spice
    Additional Care:
    Barbero Alum Block
Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera

Good morning gentlemen! This morning we had the best lathering of this G7DC focus. I am loving the scent and the continuity that the focus has brought to this week’s routine. One more day to go. Following the weekend’s reduction of the den focus of using the Stache Soapworks E Barber, I will attempt to finish out the month using some samples.

I had another wonderfully smooth, uneventful shave using the three pass. The Merkur 37c is such a solid performer. I wish you all a great day.

Agreed, Gary! The Supply is definitely worth checking out, if you're enjoying injectors. It's cheaper than the Karve and soon to be on sale for the holidays. I would keep an eye out.

Hah! Agewise, I'd say younger brother, I would say you're well past the son threshold. Ben just turned 50 this January. We're planning a do! He became a grandfather at 49. His only major failing is that he likes Tabac, but knows not to wear it when visiting. Oh well, no one's perfect.

I have an issue with my G as well, Bruce. I'm not sure what model my G is, but the head alignment is off, and it doesn't appear to grip the blade firmly along its length. If I look at the head, it's the left side, and that's the side that bites. So it sits in a drawer unused. I tried repairing it, and a friend suggested Razor Emporium which does tune-ups on injectors, but I never bothered. I have more than enough safety razors to shave with.

Type E's are great head shavers. My best head shavers are my AC razors, my Shake Sharp, my New Model Gillettes (LC, SC, Standard and Deluxe), my LaRescehe Type 51, my Eclipse Red Ring and my Type E. I have other safety razors that do an acceptable job, but none are as efficient as the latter.

Also, most E Types except for I think the last have flaps on either side of the spring that were put there for the early models.
