    Good afternoon guys!

    Straight Razor Shave #207
Max Sprecher 10/8 Half Hollow Barber's Notch
    Catie's Bubbles Tuxedo Brush
    Stirling Spice SS and AS

Well, it's another fine shave with Mad Max 2.5 passes with very little touch up gave me a BBS shave. I took my time to with this shave because I was doing fine touch up work on my chin and neck. It is the first time that I have done that kind of detail work with Mad Max. During this focus, I realized that I don't need a full dead on 40+ hr stubble to use this razor. However, I just like the sound of this razor when it plows through thick whiskers. Finished with the awesome matching aftershave. Did get some burn, but it was bearable. 2 more shaves to go! My last focus shave will be Sunday. Have a nice evening guys! 20200917_162246.jpg

  3. I store it in my bait box with the other stinkbaits. Doesn’t work all that well, even fish have standards! :ban:
  4. Or failed to educate them properly! :p
  5. The brush and scales look made for each other, Joe. When you say 2.5 passes, is that because of the touch up on the chin and neck?

    WCS/Zingari Man SS/ASB/RS - The Soloist
HC Ever Ready 3-Step - 26mm Envy Shave 2 band badger
    Rigarazor 8/8

Mid day shave today, just getting to TSD for posting/reading....

Another excellent smelling lather session. Slick and super creamy bliss created in the shaving bowl with this HC 3 step Ever Ready clone loaded with an Envy Shave badger knot. Fun face application, a little face lathering, a little painting. The Rigarazor went a short round on linen and leather, then immediately to work. Very buttery shave today.....barely felt or heard the blade cutting through 36+ hours growth. 2.5 passes (no buffing) to a nice DFS+. 1 chin weeper, the stinking skin blemish from last week just seems to hang on....light alum rub and all was good. No alum feedback anywhere other than the weeper. Light application of the Zingari Man after shave balm and a dousing of the ZM 'The Soloist' recovery splash. Love this aroma.

Thinking on it....The Soloist is a warm/deep tobacco note (not in the flowery sense of Tabac), combined with dark rum, but add a very light sweet. Very nice, hope Heather puts together an EDP for WCS, I'd be all over that.

Hope everyone's Thursday is chugging along! Off to play reading catch up!

  7. Joe, I’m glad your shave was excellent, and I know you and Blair (@b1hart) love these type razors, but it’s just too hatchet-like for me. 7/8 is about my max at this point. Maybe as time goes on I’ll change, but right now it would scare the ‘bejeezus’ out of me. :shocked003:

  9. Finessa detects Tabac and exhibits the typical female response.

While this Guppy Old Man(atee) exhibits this well-documented clinical response when he encounters MWF.

I'm happy to report that the clinical trial was halted early due to humanitarian concerns for the welfare of the Manatee.

  10. Does the indent in the end have a function, or just cosmetic?
  11. Thanks Jason! The scales are blue paua which is made from Australian abalone shell. I wanted a brush that would match as close to the scales as possible, but the brush handles made in blue abalone on the net did not match. Fortunately, I google blue swirl handle brushes and this brush came up on Catie's Bubbles site. When I saw it, I was amazed because I always wanted a tuxedo brush and with the acrylic matching handle, it was a no brainer. My 1/2 pass is the jawline and neck because my cheeks are BBS after 2 passes. Depending on the razor, I get IBSS + up to BBS- with 2.5 passes. I really do not need to go full BBB because I look like I have a BBS at the less smooth level. However, I wanted to see if I can do some detail work with this very large blade to get this BBS shave. It is much easier to do fine work with a 5/8 blade, but if I can do it with Mad Max, then it takes my technique to a different level. Hope that makes sense.

  14. Thank you, Jeff. I must say I've made some improvements in my shaving skills. I have you guys to thank for that.

Very nice Joe! I may have to join you and Bruce on Samples September after I finish my G7DC....

Awesome macro image Jim! Wow....what a brush! Nice....
  17. I'm really happy to see your progress, Paul! Nice job, my friend!
  18. Who's your "other man"? If it's me, I did pull it off, but I should get it when it's much colder, not when I did.
  19. Thanks, Blair!

  20. Well that was fast :). Thank you, Charlie. It's a "work-in-progress" but it's better to keep getting better than to mess it all up.
