  1. Thanks Jeff! I had already checked Ted Pella, and they’re pretty reasonable. About $38 for 200 blades.
  2. Wonder of wonder, miracle of miracles...we AGREE! (P.S. Hated B&M Roam, too)
  3. thank you Charlie..:)..love to rescue an odd tech set..there are so many..
  4. smarmy=think Jerry Springer..:D
  5. Nice job with Mad Max, Joe! You must be getting comfortable with it, doing the touch ups.
  6. well Evan it's a success. @MrEE .after a quick destruction of the new omega 10098 brush -it isn't pretty but takes about a minute.i prep the knot to fit, mild filing to make the bottom flatter with tom clean up on the sides and it slipped in nicely.nice and snug with ample pockets to hold the J-B kwik epoxy.did a quick polish on the handle going from 1500 to 12000 with my polishing kit and a final polish with Mothers aluminum goop..mixed the epoxy and set the knot..the final product.thank you Evan for such a beautiful piece of art... 20200917_182504_edited_edited.jpg 20200917_182504_edited.jpg

  14. Thanks Bruce! I was comfortable at my 4th shave and it became 2nd nature at the 8th shave. Today's shave was #13 with the Mad Max. Frankly, my very first shave wasn't a problem, but I had to turn my head more, so that I can see better in the mirror. I had over 350 open blade shaves before I ever shaved with the Mad Max so my experience enabled me to do well right from the start. You have to slightly adjust your technique because of the large width, but it isn't too hard. Moreover, I chose a 1/2 hollow grind which makes it easier to maneuver. If this razor was a near wedge or wedge, then I think it would be too cumbersome for me and not as enjoyable.
  15. Fantastic handle by Evan! You did a great job setting the knot, Gary! Enjoy you beautiful brush!
  16. Very nice Gary! I'm happy how it turned out too! Enjoy my friend!

  17. I agree with using the Stirling bath soaps (or Shampoo bars) as a fine way to gauge scent, Bruce. I’ve done the same with SV bath pucks.
To this day, Gentleman remains the only soap to get banned from the Spartan den by SWMBO. The Mountain Man splash has gotten the thumbs down lately for being ‘perfumy’, but that is about it. Reserve Spice, Et Tu and Florida Water have gotten the opposite reaction...:happy088:

  18. The Haymarket came as a sample when my Zenith brushes arrived from the US. Decent product, with a pleasant scent that I don’t recall being all that memorable. I’ll pull it out after this minifocus is over to give it another go.
  19. thank you Joe..:)
  20. thank you Evan.will be ready to got for Saturdays shave..:)will give the knot a quick conditioner prep..
