Beautiful cool Saturday morning shave. I am continuing with the iced water shave pairing with the iced water brush scuttle. My day will be spent helping my wife’s friend putting up Sheetrock on her ceiling. Fortunately, we will have a few extra hands although I believe one pair will be in the opinionated supervisory role.

The Drew Dick straight performed as expected delivering a superior close and comfortable shave. This jar of soap is rapidly encountering the fate of the Edmund Fitzgerald. I love the scent of the AV Musk. It provides subtle reminders throughout the day.

Enjoy your Saturday.

  9. AV Musk is real nice....we just need light masks so the scent can sneak its way through.

  12. Thanks Joe...yes it was. I think it developed right after I carefully killed off some astroturf just under my nose. I must have brought the razor down directly over NW Porcupine Alley, instead of lifting it before shaving the area.
  13. Excellent shave and pic, Joseph! Have a great day!

    Good morning!

Wonderful shave to start the day. Three passes for near BBS. Warmer than usual alum in the left hollow of my neck, little to no feedback everywhere else.

I was anxious to use my HC dubl duck seeing @clint64 use his all week. This one has a gelled boar that hasn't given me the issues that the gelled Shoate boar has, well, that is until this morning. I pressed a peanut sized piece of my Stirling sample into the bottom of my bowl, which is more than enough for three passes but not this morning. The soap disappeared into the brush without creating any lather. I had to add about one and a half times more soap to get my usual bowl full of Stirling goodness. I'll use this brush again tomorrow to see if today's results were a fluke.

    Have a great day!

  18. Wonderful shave Jim! That's the first I have heard a brush swallow up a piece of soap without any lather being made.
