The Wednesday edition of the mini-Lund set was the obvious call for today’s shave. Lovely shave, nothing but face-rubbing goodness :happy036:

Its been a while since I used a straight. I had a big beard, and was sculping with a Gillette Fatboy. Now I just have a large Mustache/Goatee. So, I decided to do some shaving around what is left on the face. I had a very smooth, 1 pass shave. This razor holds a wicked edge. It wont be long, and I will have a Baby Face again. I'm starting to get tired of it, but the wife likes it.

    Razor- Dubl Duck Goldedge
    Brush- B-400, By Tom(@twhite ), Boar knot.
Soap- More For Me, from Turkey
    Aftershave- Vintage Avon Island Lime.

First outing with the Rodgers Refined Steel, a very nice blade that shaved like a butterknife. The only problem was the oak scales, although well made the maker doesn’t understand razor scales, they’re closed at the bottom except for the last 1” or so. Which means that you cannot tighten the pivot even though it’s a threaded fixture, that short amount of fairly thick oak just won’t give. We all know that a blade this heavy is not a pleasant thing if the pivot is a bit loose. So new scales are in order.

Soap was Vintage Yardley lathered with a Simpsons 56, and a splash of SMN lavender AS finished up a wonderful shave.
