  1. How did I miss this? Happy Birthday Charlie and Joseph! @Primotenore ...and Cheryl Tiegs...

  2. Another soap sample dusted. For tomorrow, I loaded up some B&M Lavanille in an empty tub.
Today's shave was yet another killer one. Being a little rushed, I only face lathered once, then just smashed a little water on the face and rubbed it around between passes. It worked just splendid.
I'm still smitten with the Sabre and GEM PTFE combo. This evening I ordered another 200 blades.
From what I've read, it's not uncommon to get 20+ shaves with one PTFE blade. If I only use GEM razors every day, and get 20 shaves each time, they'll last over 11 years. :)
    Have a great evening, fellas!

  3. Agreed- A Polo, Emperor, Duke, Hive, Milk Churn, Key Hole...I’d take this knot in any of them.

  4. I’m pretty consistent with getting 6-7 shaves with a Gem ptfe, fwiw, Bruce.

  5. Yes, he is! Honestly, it was a total surprise and I am humbled by it. I will cherish it always. Thanks Bruce!

  8. Great shave Bruce! It sounds like you got a great deal on the blades!

  9. Thanks, Jason! I think today was about the 9th shave on this blade, and it’s still going strong. I’m intrigued by what some of the guys posted about them over at DFS, and I might push this blade to see how long it lasts. Blades are pretty good about letting you know when they’re done.

  10. That’s a very nice surprise, Joe! You’ll be enjoying that brush for many, many years to come.

  11. Don’t know if anyone answered this yet or not, Evan, but the MM is a dupe of Creed’s Silver Mountain Water. A unisex scent, apparently.
I prefer the V3 SS Hawk as well, but do get good shaves with this light V2.

  12. There aren’t a ton of places to buy them in bulk. Connaught has good prices, but international shipping costs have gone up a lot. They no longer have a free ship over X$ amount because of that. I ordered from Ted Pella - $38.50 for 200.

  13. Very cool news about the possible retirement, Jim! Going to work because you want to sounds like a great plan.

  14. 19.25 for 100 blades is considered expensive, but if you get your expected number of shaves per blade then it is still a home run.
  15. Congrats on the new razor, Clint. Another Canadian artisan razor maker? I have been asleep at the wheel, apparently.

  16. I have one of those Katanas inbound as well, Terry. Your enabling worked. I have no 1/2 blade razors so I thought I’d give it a go. Cheap like borscht.

  19. For DE blades, I’d agree. The GEM PTFE blades are harder to find, especially in bulk. The CVS carbon blades I’ve been using up to this point are over $5.00 for ten blades.
