Fantastic shave Joe. Good luck at the zoo. ;)

    Just gorgeous Jim.

Wonderful shave and photo Joseph. I would had to see my SOTD photos if I took them in the morning.

Trying the Blackland Tradere fired up my interest in the PILS razor. However, I was not willing to pay the price of admission of a new PILS razor. So I placed a WTB ad on DFS hoping to get lucky. I got a unbelievable deal on a pristine PILS. The razor arrived yesterday and with my total lack of patience, the PILS is up for duty today. The razor has hold the blade almost flat like the Tradere. Despite a large blade gap there is very little blade feel due to its neutral blade exposure. The preferred angle is just a touch different than most razors with a small sweet spot. One my first pass N-S the angle was easy to find and maintain with good audible feedback. The second pass S-N was more difficult to find and maintain the angle. The third pass ATG was easy and smooth. I had more touch ups than usual because of my failure on the second pass. The PILS is a razor that rewards technique. I look forward to dialing this one in over the next several days. I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

  9. Thanks, Gents.

    I'm studying the Medium baseplate.
I'm not sure if the Mild can be better for my tastes.
And I'm learning to master this model, to challenge my champion FrankenRazor PP1489.

  19. Quite pleased with my shave this morning. It is a little too warm for Lumberjack(The Soap Exchange 4 Men), but I figured the Agadir A.S. would cool things down a little-as that is what it is- a "Cooling Tonic". Anyway, 0:30 to load the soap with the Crown King brush. It's getting harder to load now that most of the soap rests on the outside circumference of the jar. Maybe I should just spin the jar around as I load!! Dunno. But soap did get on, therefore I was set. Good spread coverage. No trouble on Porcupine Alley, but I did miss an area at Northwest Cactus Nation. That's my October focus-get that area!! 2 passes. . No cuts or Knicks, which is great of course. Nice close with the aforementioned AgadirMen aftershave. Although I'd love to give this one a "Top" grade, I'll bring it down to Super Duper Excellent for skipping over that Cactus Nation section.
  20. Well, I projected too soon on the survey!! :Animatedfrozensmily: YUP has caught MIX UP and we have a tie for the lead on the next to last day. Be back tomorrow for the exciting finish.
