Got some more back story on this razor which belonged to my former barber, back when I had hair to barber! It belonged to my Barber’s grandfather, and was never used by him. Looks like I’m the first in well over a century to shave with the dang thing!
that's very cool,i would print up a formal history letter and picture for it and frame it,...was the owner's grandfather a barber as well?
thank you Jeff.it's the last generation from the 1950s and the mildest of the almost 4 i have...still waiting on the 2nd gen in the post..
Off a bit, busy. But in the meantime a dumb question. "Blooming" a hard soap. From what I gather it is adding water, letting it sit, then draining of the "sludge" to lather up. Correct?
Thanks, Jason. I wasn't sure about this soap at first. Not because of the Donkey Milk, but that is rather weird, but more because the ingredient list: Ingredients: Potassium, Palmate, Sodium Palmate, Potassium palm, Kernelate, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Glycerin, Aqua, Palm Kernal Acid, Sodium chloride, pentasodium penetate, tetrasodium etidronate, lacta asinus, kaolin, parfum, linalool, limonene, geraniol, courmarin, hydroxyisohexyl 3-cyclohexene, carboxaldehyde, butylphenyl, methylpropional, citronellol, evernia prunastri (oakmoss) extract, vitis vinifera, honey, CI 7789 Isn't that list crazy? However, it has really grown on me and while it'll probably never be a re-purchase (not due to dislike, but rather the ridiculous amount of product in my den) I am happy to bring it out every so often, as it lathers very well and provides a great shave. Scent is pleasant too.
