  1. I don't own a Rex, but it is a great razor. I am primarily a straight razor shaver so for me to spend over 200 dollars for any safety razor doesn't justify it for me. Yes, if I was primarily a safety razor shaver, then I can see purchasing one.
  2. I'm kind of the opposite now. Sold all my medium format Hasselblads and 35mm Canon film cameras long ago, save for my first 35mm, a Canon AE-1.

Toasted a Canon 7d MKII last weekend. Ugh. 5 year workhorse. Joystick is marginal, and Canon Professional Services is back up 2-4 months. Ended up replacing it yesterday with a Canon EOS 5R. & :shocked003: all at the same time. As I left the camera shop I've been with for 25+ years, the owner said, 'Welcome to the world of mirrorless & 4/8K video'. :scared011:

  4. As far as I know the only difference is the case. The Bostonian had the case that lifted as opened. Which is why I call mine a Bostonian. I have the case, but needs a new lining so it's picture-worthy.

  6. Dang! Forgot about Fougere Friday. I'm slipping. Next Friday for sure.
Love everything about the pic, Jim! That razor head really does look like a New Deluxe.

  10. I agree, Evan, that the Single Ring and Ball End Old Type (thin cap) shave virtually the same. It's the main reason my old Single Ring is now showing up in Daniel's pics. The thicker cap ones from the late 20s are milder, imho.

  12. Unfortunately, international trade agreements place limits on razor exports from Philly to Canada. In my research, however, I uncovered all manner of free trade incentives for exports to Kentucky.
  13. Great shiny shave and report, Jim!

  15. Possibly my 61. Last I heard there was some sort of hillbilly trade embargo. I’m not sure there would be much of a market for urbane, Philadelphian chic down in Ole Kaintuck! :)
  16. Lovely shave, Gary! Remember there’s always a home for that Senator if you ever want to part with it! ;)

  19. Very nice blues again, Gary. Not sure I've ever seen the Barbus used by anyone besides yourself, actually.

  20. Thank you Bruce. I figured as much. Most lather problems come down to not enough product or not enough water. I usually can take care of the first problem with a "Soap Destroyer"
