My awakening was greeted by leaden clouds, interrupted by dry brushstrokes of rosy sunshine.
This photo-uncertainty influenced the choice of soap scent: I want to use the Knize Ten, but I need a more congruous atmosphere.

And the Branco (a DIY experiment of a frind on the italian forum) was the best compromise.
I found a soap of great honesty and prompt reactivity. These characteristics, enhanced the raspiness of the pure badger that, after having abraded the soap, massaged my masculine cheeks.
I really like this brush as much for its aesthetics as for its performance.

I was puzzled by the Kai on Progress (and it's not the first time!): that my skin doesn't tolerate the sharpness of the Nipponic blade on the Teutonic razor?
This wouldn't please the nostalgic convinced of the Berlin-Tokyo Axis...

Just the kind of brightness mentioned prevented me from indulging in Chet Baker's saudade, but the Provençal pianist provided a perfect accompaniment.

  6. 3rd October 2020, Hong Kong - Tonight's shave: Dovo 5/8" Prima Silver Steel straight, TOBS Sandalwood cream, Simpsons Chubby 3 Super Badger, 4711 Skin Milk, 4711 Cologne, Van Yulay black resin bowl. I re-appraised the Chubby 3 after hating it first time - adjusted amount of cream, like 3 times normal usage, plenty more water. The brush is SOFT soft soft but it does have a little scratch. If it had like 25% more backbone I am telling you it would be the perfect knot. It is massive, dense, but a little floppy. Anyway - 3 passes and a touch up. Feeling "barber shop"!! The razor performed perfectly after over a year without use - stropped it about 40 times on linen and then 40 on leather - good to go.

  7. Saturday morning:

    Neutrogena Men Facial Wash
    Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
    Super Speed/Derby day 7
    Bundubeard On The Berg SS
    Nivea Sensitive ASB
    Old Spice Classic AS Splash

I’m debating on whether I should keep this Derby blade for one more shave or if I should throw it away and change it. Jaco’s On The Berg is a lovely soap - the scent is so nice although it hard for me to describe, it gives terrific lather that’s very easy to create as well as a very comfortable postshave feeling. The Nivea Sensitive balm delivered its wonderful soothing with lots of moisturizing and it cooled the slight razor burn I received from the tugging of the blade. To be honest I don’t particularly care for the scent of this version of Old Spice from P&G - to me the original one from Shulton was much nicer. Today I had to struggle a little in order to get BBS.

Have a great weekend - stay safe and healthy!
