  2. Beautiful gear, Evan. Your Thin Handle is a bit different than the one I have.
I can't imagine what your Grandmother is going through right now. Your family will be in my prayers.

  5. We’ll see; at this point I’m still a newb! It's only been about 6-7 months. I’m really enjoying vintage straights. The only new razor I own is the Riga 7/8, and honestly, I enjoy the shaves on my cast steel razors more.

  8. Congrats on your new razor Evan! Excellent shave, pic and post! The C-19 has played havoc with all of us. Hopefully, there will be many days of hugs and kisses from your grandma without this disease.

    Gillette Old Type
    Gillette Platinum (3)
    Wild West Brushworks 'Renaissance'
    Haslinger Sheep's Milk Shaving Soap
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
Barrister and Mann Reserve Classic Aftershave

Each time I use this Haslinger soap, I enjoy it so much that I wonder why I use anything else. Then I remember that is just crazy talk. :rolleyes005:

2 passes with the Gillette Old Type provided a very comfortable near BBS result this morning with no irritation or mishaps.
The B&M Reserve Classic arrived yesterday so I was glad to put it to work today. It has a very familiar scent to it that I cannot quite place. Either way, I like it. Getting it on sale for $11 makes it even better.

  12. i am glad that most of these fine vintage straights and de razors are still around.in most cases they have sat dormant for decades.i have a 1940s british tech that was used from new until the early 90s for daily ish shaves .it's not pretty and very worn but works ok..
  13. I don't think there are many razors around that were made in the 1600's and 1700's. If they exist, then I would consider them showpieces.
  14. Very nice shave, pic and post Andrew!
