Talked a little about this one in the Straight Acquisition thread... Buck Knives Salient 039 025/250 in carbon fiber Quite nice with its new Coticule edge. Enjoy your shave. Tom
Thanks Jeff. It does seem to take a little bit extra to sort out, but once done, it shaved just as nice as other modern production razors. I had read this going in, but some had a slight frown and some uneven geometry which will show up in a wavy bevel. This one had that, but it was very slight and easy to hone around.
How do you like the nose on the Buck @TestDepth ? I have a reason for asking.... Blade #3 in the 7 Engstrom set, got the butterknife edge, so I’m good with this one. Soap was 3P and ABC almond balm finished up a BDBS shave.
Aesthetically, I didn’t at first, but it is growing on me. Functionally, I never paid much attention to how close my razor got to my ear coming down from my sideburns, but the spine did brush against the ear... caught me off guard a bit.
I remember seeing a thread on another forum about a member working with them on a design. Cool that it is coming to market.
I contacted Sal from Spyderco on the Spyderco Forum, and was informed that the Spyderco razor is being developed, but that everything has slowed down dramatically due to Covid.
