Thank you Andrew. I am trying to use this brush and cream combo until the cream is gone. I am going to alternate MWF and LEA Classic next week.
Thank you Charlie! This was one of those EBay bargains under 30 dollars and it does give a good shave. It has scratches on both sides of the face that I will eventually fix, nevertheless, it suits me well. The bolsters on the scales give it a nice look.
Classy shave, Jeff. I always enjoy seeing the cool gear in your SOTD. How do you like using the TOBS Peppermint? I've tried Avocado and Sandalwood and both were good performers for me.
That is true. I will tone that razor down a bit before I use it again. I like comfortable sharp razors. I did too much stropping on the chrox because I had some minor issues with the edge and thought I could overide it.
Wonderful set up and photo, Clint! Why do you prefer the Karve SB vs. the OC? It is just due to agressiveness of the D-plate? I hope you are enjoying a "down" day today. Remember, no fisticuffs next week!
I don't like to kill the edge when a bevel is set. I will go to a 3 micron, 1 micron progression and do a test shave. If I am fine with the shave, then I will go to a .3 micron which is a 50-60K stone grit equivalent. If the test shave is not to my liking, then I will go 5, 3, 1 and then do another test shave and finish on the .3 film. I am not a believer of resetting bevels because you are losing too much metal unnecessarily. I would only reset a bevel when the edge has a chip or the blade is warped.
