Great shave with an interesting kit! Glad it worked well for you. Enjoy your day. Sounds like you're living the life of leisure. Do you expect to be called in?
Sounds like fun, Evan! Glad the shave went well! Hope your trip to the mountains is relaxing and fun.
You truly are the straight razor Sensei, Joe! That is exactly it! My favorite razors all tend to be around 6/8 and I even have a 13/16 that I really like. I think with the Riga it's more about the bulkiness of the razor in hand. That may change as my experience broadens. I'm now in the habit of a two hand blade hold for below the jawline. It works well for me and helps manage the tremors for fine work in the difficult angles. I really look forward to each straight shave.
No, I do not think so. They sent me paperwork to declare if I wanted to stay on their list for this school year so I signed it and dropped it off at the office. They are open 4 days per week with half the student body alternating 2 days per week. So there are 3 possibilities. One, they are concerned about my age with Covid 19. Two, subs are rarely called because of the virtual classroom logistics, three they terminated me and haven't sent a notice. I am collecting unemoloyment so I am getting paid half the max amount of possible days in a month. On average, I get 12 days in a month, so I am getting 3/4 the average total amount. I have enough savings to last me a few years plus my social security so I am not stressed. If I don't hear from them by the end of the year, then I will contact them to find out the situation. I can always drive a cab a couple of days a week.
Everyone has a sweet spot. Shaving with a 5/6 is like a toy for me. 6/8 and up are the right feel for me. Mad Max brings me to a different level where I am comfortable and have fun with it, but I would never use it as a daily shaver.
Very nice, Jim! Astra Planeta? You'd better use it up by April, if you still only use it on work days...
IF, Jeff? Looks like you may be heading down that particular rabbit hole already! A fine father/son hobby, regardless. Sorry the Soap Commander isn't a fave. It is a solid product for me, but not one that I reach for frequently. That describes about 8 tubs in the Den, though...
Another great shot, Clint. Love those fall colours. I trust today is going better for you than yesterday.
Congrats on taming that Shiv, Terry. I remember when Joseph posted his review of it the first time. My thought at the time was 'well heeled, top tier MAYhem'. A popsicle stick razor for those that can rock an Ascot...
Interesting note on the razor 'dragging', Danny. Good idea to switch soaps. That being said, some designs seem to create almost a 'suction' effect of razor head on face, for whatever reason.
Which term? Alliteration? Very nice combo and pic, Joseph. You must have photoshopped that brush in the photo, though, as I am certain that is the one that is being PIFFed to me...
Love the photo, Andrew! Is that an Aventus dupe? I see the WSP products are now available at a Canadian Vendor. Topofthechain is fast becoming the Canadian Maggards for software choices.
Love the reds, Gary! That razor is no slouch, either. I am a fan of most things Fine does software-wise. I see they have a Knize Ten dupe now...
