October 14th Zingari Man AS & RS - The Wanderer Zingari Man ASB - Unscented Brad Sears Archduke II Disco - Super Badger Hybrid Seiko Kamisori Just getting to post...long day with work and errands, getting ready for 2 very large motorsport events this weekend. Had a bowl and face lather slinging fun session this morning. Overloaded the BSSW brush with 30+ seconds of Zingari Man Sego soap, easily enough for 4+ passes. Super barbershop aroma while maneuvering the NOS Seiko kamisori (traditional grind). It's a very light razor, requires more thought and control in mind to keep it on task versus a heavier blade. 2.5 passes, no issues, nice BBS results. Quick 2 squirts of ZM's after shave balm followed with matching 'The Wanderer' recovery splash....and I was good for the day. Hope everyone had a great Wednesday!
Couple new acquisitions. Brad Sears Shave Works Archduke II w/Super Badger Hybrid & My last DE purchase*. The Cooper Monobilt has been my 'unicorn' razor for quite some time, started looking back about April 2019 I believe. So many snatched from purchase (a couple by mere minutes) as I responded to BST offerings, and eBay options dried to 'not much'. Watched as y'all enjoyed this cool razor. I must give a HUGE shout out & very sincere Thank You to @MrEE for finding this example a couple weeks ago on an eBay.uk auction......I was able to snipe it with seconds to go, a very nice deal. Arrived today, auction barely ended a week ago. After a Scrubbing Bubbles session with a stiff boar brush (not one I use for lathering!) and some cloth polishing, it's near perfect in it's fit n finish. No bent teeth, closing mechanism works flawless, no degradation to be found on it's surface anywhere. Blades sit very nicely aligned that I can see. The micro abrasions shown in the top cap....over exaggerated by harsh LED shop lighting. To @MrEE Can't wait for tomorrow morning! *....I think .
That is one beautiful razor, Blair! My Son’s favorite razor which he uses daily is a Hoshi Tonbo 8000. It looks like yours bladewise!
Lovely acquisition, Blair. My Cooper, when closed was not completely straight and although it still shaved well, I couldn't stand having it around.
