Are the gelled knots supposed to increase its lathering ability? Or is it just to make it feel softer?

good morning gents,full english quick easy with the gold new rfb aka brit milady/tech handle..fine shaver..just a gold version of the nickel one and the only rfb design plated this way.great #2 bbs shave from the vintage wilkie in 2+ smooth passes..tobs royal forest provided the lather and the splash..awesome..have a fine monday everyone..

I guess I didn't really say how the knot worked, did I. I found it a very soft, very dense knot. Not necessarily a lather hog as it did give up enough, but there certainly was lots left in there, too. I wouldn't say there was any increase to lathering ability over the average badger. A great face feel is the #1 attribute, imho.
