  9. Thursday's Shave
    #OCtober

    Gillette Old Type
    Personna Platinum Chrome (2)
    Wild West Brushworks 'Odin'
    B&M Bay Rum Shaving Soap
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Grand Bay, Bay Rum Aftershave

Before I removed the blade from the Merkur 15C and put it into the Gillette this morning, I took some time to compare the blade exposures between them. The Gillette definitely has more, but not a huge amount. Also while examining the blade in the Gillette, I noticed that after tightening the handle to the max, the blade edge looked somewhat wavy. Backing off about a quarter turn, the waviness goes away. I've never noticed this before and wonder if tightening the blade down too much could cause the sometimes scratchy feel in the OT shave. Today's shave was with the blade tightened 1/4 turn from full and the shave was smooth.

2 passes with the Gillette Old Type provided a comfortable and efficient shave this morning with no irritation or mishaps. Double splash of the Grand Bay aftershave did the trick, finishing off a great shave.
