Super Safety Razors Heavyweight Chrome Trac II
Personna Twin II Plus Cartridge (1)
30 Day Crew LE Poculi handle w/28 mm APShaveCo SynBad flat top knot
    Mike's Natural Soaps Hungarian Lavender
    Alum
    Thayers Unscented Witch Hazel
    Unrefined Shea Butter
    Almond Oil
Jeeves of Hudson Street Blood on Steel

This was my first shave in a year or two with this Trac II handle. It was quite a contrast moving from the heavy and aggressive Mongoose loaded with the Feather Super Pro blade to a "heavy weight" Trac II handle loaded with a Personna cartridge. Comparing the two razors, the Trac II is handle heavy, the handle is a bit thinner (although easy to grip with the rubber grips at the bottom), and it is a mild shaver. I performed three passes with plenty of ATG and J- hooks and ended up in DFS territory.

I chose to use a synthetic brush (my other trusty 30 DC LE) as this is typical of what I'd use in a carry-0n travel kit.

The Trac II leveled all the cactii in the desert, but a few sand patches remain across the desertscape. I found myself losing the blade angle (the Trac II cart is fixed) and needing to apply a bit of pressure. Clearly, I've got some opportunities to dial in this little guy. I'll give this shave 3 Piggly Wiggly's on 4 Swine scale. As for a travel shave rating, it would earn a 92% thumbs up from the seniors on the tour bus.

    Enjoy your Sunday, gentlemen.

    Grace and Peace.

  5. Usually not a big deal on the alcohol, really. I can get most all things from Canadian distributors. The exception is vintage or privately sold stuff from eBay, Etsy, friends, etc. that would come internationally.

  7. 16° right now with light snow. Very little accumulation though. Shouldn't be too bad a drive home this evening.

Way too far behind to catch up. but I would like to give everyone, who
    congratulated
my son on his marriage, a big "Thank you".
Today, we arrived home and I took the opportunity to shave with the newest member of my brush den:
    The Culmak 92
This brush is a 31mm Best Badger knot and just saw water for the very first time in its
probably over 55-60 years of life.
It came in its original packing and even had the original $16.50 price tag on the bottom of the handle.
Side note: that's now gone. Oh well, I am not running a museum here. ;)
    IMG_6053.jpeg
For size comparison, here it is with two Simpson CH3's.
    IMG_6063.jpeg
Lastly, here are the butterscotch handles that are currently in my den. (They come and go)
    IMG_6064.jpeg
This knot holds a ton of lather. And after a couple of cleansing test-lathers,
I started the load for today's shave.
Side note: NOT ONE SINGLE HAIR FELL OUT. :happy088:

The WR2 was again loaded with the Light Brigade and what a shave was had.
The knot is huuuuuuuuuge and could apply lather easily to Andre the Giant.

It's great to be back home. Hope everyone is well.
I'll close this post with a photo of the Tree of Life in New Orleans.

  12. Very nice, Charlie. I have a pack of those Personna Trac II blades as well. It has been so long since I flew anywhere, it has been a long time since I used them. Maybe next month, but not during OCtober...

  17. Good plan, Terry! :)

Unfortunately, not all handlers of hazardous materials act responsibly, and that increases the chances of serious accidents. There could be other reasons, but I'm sure that was a major factor in the creation of the international shipping rules for flammables. You don't have to look too hard to find reports of some serious accidents in the news that deal with hazmat manufacture, storage, and transport. I could tell you some stories from my former work life, but I'd rather talk about BBQ and ice cream.

  18. Hi all!
Still using devette razors with my go to blade, Feathers.
    A creation of Ryan @PLANofMAN.
This Devette slant shaves fine and close.
    20201025_150137.jpg
Shown here with a Durham Duplex handle.
A fine issue free, 3 pass head and face shave to be sure.
Devettes are now my daily drivers.
Hands down, the easiest open blade razors to use.
Ryan calls it the worlds most dangerous razor.
May be??? But what a shave!
    Enjoy!
