Great looking shave and photo Joseph. I did not enjoy the CC Bay Rum shave cream but I do really like the aftershave
November 2, 2020 PILS 101NL Feather Thäter Boar Mike’s Bay Rum Captain’s Choice Bay Rum Aftershave Happy Monday Everyone. I broke out some Bay Rum for our first cold morning of the season. The Mike's Bay Rum is just a straight forward bay rum scent without added citrus or other notes. I do not find it heavy on the cloves either. As always Mike's just flat works for me. Three passes and touch ups caught the baby again today. The Pils does a wonderful job on my lower right neck. I am having a bit of trouble maintaining the correct angle on the S-N pass. A splash of CC Bay Rum aftershave and I am off to a client site for the day. I hope everyone has a great Monday.
SOTD MONDAY MORNING, NOVEMBER 2, 2020 A beautiful sunny day led to a great shave to greet the day! The JR Custom Rosewood Silvertip Badger #378 whipped up a nice wet MWF lather for my Mug shave. Three passes (WTG, ATG, XTG) with the smooth, buttery jasper edge set the stage for a great noggin shave to follow. After bowl lathering the second type of yogurty, slick MWF carpeting I like for my dome shaves, I selected a long neglected favorite DE, one of my few modern artisan safety razors, the Colonial Silversmith. Loaded with a Feather blade, it made short two pass (ATG, ATG) work of the dome stubble remaining from yesterday’s Gillette Old Type shave. A splash of Humphrey’s Lilac WH followed by Aqua Velva left me feeling smooth, clean and velveteen. RAZOR: Dubl Duck Goldedge 11/16 (Mug), Colonial Silversmith (Dome) BLADE: Feather DE PREP: Cold water rinse followed by Argan Oil BRUSH: JR Custom Rosewood Silvertip Badger #378 SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Aqua Velva (Spanish Version).
Awesome Monday shave! The Rubberset 400 with the Omega boar 10065 knot whipped the P160 up into some Primo territory lather. Yes, it was that good! Rocky 6C at plate 6 and a Feather was a smooth ride this morning. Three passes and I am slick. This was my first Rockwell and I enjoyed it so much I went after the 6S next. Finished the shave with Irish Chestnut by Andy Hilfiger. Hope everyone has a great Monday......hard to believe we are in November.
Real nice shave this morning. I must credit the shower prep-Dial 4 Men Infinite Fresh. Could be one of my best prep choices. (Course Stoylin's bodwashes are great, lacking a lot of what's in the other 4 Men preps I've used(Dial, Dove, Nivea). Anyway, 0:35 to load the Jayaruh with the Phoenix A.A. "Boomton Bay Rum" soap. I really like the way this soap spreads across my face&neck to set things up. Smoother than the others(course not by much, but you can feel the difference). The razor moved through those areas with comfort and ease. I did end up with two cuts along North Porcupine Alley, though. Neither were too serious-I believe I can control each with occasional wet washcloth swipes throughout the day. A small "soap puddle" is forming in the middle of the jar-this asks for routine checking, as I may have to leave the lid off for some time as the puddle increases(or IF it does). Clubman Special Reserve to finish it off. (Pinaud Rides West Into The Sunset). Well, shux.....I was pleased overall with the shave, but I must give it a Most Excellent due to the two cuts.
Yes. As I've said before, Clyde Schmitty the PAA owner may come across as goofy, but he sure puts out a nice shavesoap.
