Yup, a purdy 400. Is that the Katana head, Danny? Interesting. I found mine quite aggressive.

The Red Ring is such an iconic razor, Jeff. Very cool. If you are going to shave with a 007 brush, you need to have Moneypenny lather it up, though.

By intermediate razors, do you mean not super mild or aggressive, Evan? Or is it a smoothness scale? Both?

I've never smelled Irisch Moos so I don't know how close it is. I do really like it. To my nose it's similar to the Veg but without the rough edges.

good morning gents,thursday french shave..early 60's french tech/platinum combo,the french opal f200 badger brush built a fabulous pdp 63 lather,smooth bbs in 3 passes..touch of twisted thayers and 63 cologne to finish..nice and simple awesome shave..this is a transitional razor as it incorporates the common post war design base plate but has the zamak cap with a unique blade alignment bar.the later versions of this cap design used the late baseplate seen 62 -ish onwards until the late 80s in many markets.early style on the right.,late on the left

It's been a crazy couple days. Utah in person voting meant 1) scan QR code while waiting in car. 2) get a text message telling you to enter building. 3) show ID and get a mail-in ballot assigned to you. 4) fill out ballot in car. 5) drop ballot in drop box as you left the parking lot.

It was easy. I liked it much better than waiting in line for hours.

The MR41 was the second in my "skin stretching is key" expirement. I'll say I could tell the MR41 was more efficient, but I didn't draw any blood, which I think is a first with the MR41.

The 2+ pass shave was AWESOME! BBS all the way and 14 hours later it's still DFS smooth.

I'm still deciding if I should use my BlueTip tomorrow to see if a mild razor will produce a BBS shave when combined with skin stretching, but I probably will. I just don't like the BlueTip as much... but It's time to give it another go now that my talent has improved.

My wife liked the Osage Rub. So I'm confused.

Cold wet flannel to my face.
Simple ~ Sensitive Bar Soap + Nuage Menthol shaving Oil.
Brush : Wilkinson Sword Boar.
Face Lather.
Soap : Wilkinson Sword Shave Stick.
Blade: Indian Gillette Wilkinson Sword Saloon Pack. (2)

Another early start for me this morning.....It's been a long time since i last used the WS shave stick. As always the performance from this shave stick is excellent providing enough slick protective lather for the full shave without having to re-apply it to my face.

The Merkur 39c slant is such a wonderful solidly built smooth non-aggressive, yet efficient razor and like it's smaller handled sibling each time i have put it in my razor rotation i have had consistently good irritation-free silky smooth shaves with it, today was no exception it paired up with the GWS blade wonderfully making a smooth efficient razor & blade duo.A pleasurable 3 pass + pick ups near BBS shave with no errors to report.Finishing to the shave off with a generous dollop of Nivea Men ~ Sensitive Cooling PSB.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.

The National edge is still keen and while I did re-open yesterday's set-down,
I was still rewarded with a very fine shave.
Finished the shave with another Caribbean Bay Rum: St. Johns.
Potency and sillage is not that of Meehan, but the scent is typical and refreshing.
Takes, however, a double-splash to achieve the bay rum bang Primo begs for.

Face lathering today was pure luxury. It is hard to do better than SV lathered with a badger cloud like Thater. I did pull out an alum block to help with skin stretching. I don't normally do a lot of skin stretching since I can usually get everything in 3 passes. I will say that it made a big difference in the shave today. My lower right neck was done without touch ups and my chin required less buffing. Overall a wonderful BBS shave. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Awesome shave in Alabama today.

First, let's starts with the lather. The Rubberset 400 (ain't it purdy Jason?) with the Omega 10065 boar knot whipped up some glorious Soap Commander. The last couple of shaves I have been spending more time whipping up the lather and I have noticed more sheen and thicker lather. Have I been short changing my lather all of these years? More experimentation to come.

Let's talk about the razor. The razor head is the Yaqi Single Edge in black. New to the den. The handle is my shortened Maggard's MR7 with o-rings in the grooves. The shave was smooth and efficient and not once did the razor give the impression of wanting to bite. Three passes, no blood loss and I am smooth. I am really liking this head paired with this handle.

Finished the shave with some Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum.
